I only learned about the Fiesta video being filmed there after our visit. Saw the building from the exterior but never made it up to see it up close.

Just throw my ashes in the field
And hope there's some soul left to save

The building's called the Casa Mila, you can actually go up on the roof where the video was shot, which we did, it was quite interesting.

It was built as an apartment block and on one of the floors you can actually go and look around one of the apartments, which is laid out like it was when it was built.

Thought for a quick moment we were actually staying there. A double-check of the reservation says we're at Casa Fuster, which is where Woody Allen filmed some of Vicky Christina Barcelona and also opened a Jazz club there (from their website): "Every Thursday night between 9pm and 11pm, “Café Vienés” transforms into an exclusive Jazz Club. Great artists such as Woody Allen and his clarinet, the Yoshida Brothers, Eddy Davis, Conal Fowkes, Doc Scalon Trio, New Orleans Rag Trio or the Barcelona Swing Serenaders among others have all played on its stage." Well, as luck would have it, we're checking in on a Thursday. :D

Spent the past week in the Smoky Mountains (Near Bryce City, N.C.) with the fam. Nice time together in a low-key setting.

Last week we spent a few night's down in Hertfordshire and visited my parents just over the border in darkest Essex for the day in between.

Tomorrow we are off on our annual London trip, as usual spending a few days down there, theatre show etc.

I'm looking forward to it, but with last week's trip I'm exhausted even thinking about it. I'm sure I'll enjoy it though.

Just got back from a ranch a friend of mine is married into, northwest of Kamploops, BC. High mountain meadows, rolling hills, waterfalls and deep canyons, wildlife, wood-fired hot tub.

And of course pigs

The whole first part of that sounds like an awesome road trip. I'm jealous. We'd have to part ways before Fabulous. Las. Vegas. though. Just can't stand the place.
