DzM wrote:As promised, here is Your Humble Janitor in a dust storm. You Janitor is sporting:

  • One fauxhawk
  • One light-cotton desert scarf to use as air filter (note that it is not being used and my lungs are still filled with dust)
  • No goggles (hence red and inflamed eyes that a few hours after this photo will be in a medical tent being flushed out, and once again the following day)
  • Two-day scruff
  • Two-hours of caked on dust storm
  • Since everything else is off-frame, let's just say for fun that your Janitor is also shirtless, in a kilt, on a motorcycle. What the hell, right?

And none of them good.

And huh - It seems as though I'm no longer missing.

Burning Man Holiday

Great photos DzM.

My friend's 19 year old daughter went over to it this year from Sligo with some of her mates. He was shitting himself worrying about her but she was fine.

Back from the wasteland with some great pics and a whole load of stories, by the look of it. And a stunning new hairstyle. Mind you, I am jealous these days of anyone who is capable of having a hairstyle.

That portrait of sheer manliness utterly shames me.

And to think that The Lovely Mrs. DzM scoffed and said it makes me look goofy. Ha! In yer face The Lovely Mrs. DzM! It is sheer manliness! HA!

I'm so flattered that you remembered. :o

You got the hawk part...I'm a wee bit sad that there is no pic of a kilt and motorcycle though. I believe when we first met I told you all of the above were my favorite (and most manly) things a guy could sport.

DzM does look divine. I love fauxhawks. Ah well, FH, whether the hairstyle is missing or not, it's sweet to be alive.

Yes indeedy. Besides, I'm sure it's my own fault for abusing my hair when I was young. Used up my hair allowance too early in life... but hey, think of all the time I save nowadays, let alone the freedom from hairstyle-related angst. I am happy to celebrate DzM's style and hirsuteness.

Damn fine photos too, DzM.

Heavens, FH. Most people pick more conventional things to abuse in their youth, like substances. I shudder to think what you did with your hair?

The Burning Man photos are great, aren't they? No surprise, of course.

Did you freak out on any drugs? Just wondering, 'cause our friend's mother was working the chill-out tent. Ex hippy, she's an old pro.

DzM doesn't strike me as a drugs guy. He seems more the high on life type. Not that it's any of my business, and if it were I suppose I just could have asked, but there you have it.

And you have to love any place that has a chillout tent.

Anyone ever been to the Orkneys ? And if so, what would you recommend (travel quality / enjoyment / time / price) - ferry or plane ? I´m thinkin of probably going there next year.
