Spent the day on Lake Minnetonka in the land of 10,000 lakes (Minnesota). A beautiful day on the water. The people around here are so very friendly and the Scandinavian girls in bikinis are never hard on the eyes... Yes, this is the same lake that the "Love Boat" incident put the Minnesota Vikings football team in the news. Our boating experience was much more sedate and I think it was the first swim in a lake for my 2 girls who enjoyed the day even more than the adults.

Just throw my ashes in the field
And hope there's some soul left to save

"Changeable" (i.e. typical Brit summer weather...)

We had several downpours over the last weekend, interspersed with sunshine warm enough that you could sit out in it and dry yourself off.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

Actually, I should qualify that. Over the last few days, when it's rained in the daytime, the sun has then come out and so it's possible to dry yourself off quite pleasantly.
But when it's rained in the evening, you get wet and then sit there shivering till it's time to go home. This is not so pleasant.

I seem to have got rained on immoderately over the last few days. Typical festival weather.
But in the end, it'll depend on whereabouts in these islands you are, KwaK, and what the weather there has decided to do on that particular day. The forecast isn't for settled weather at the moment. Hope you have fun, anyway. :)

OK. This isn't a holiday per se, but I'm greatly enjoying three beers and four cocktails while watching the sun set over the Potomac.

Very nice. The simple moments, though usually seldom remembered, are often the sweetest.

No, the trip is a present to celebrate our anniversery. She´s never been to London before and I hope she´ll have a good time.
