And now, I am here.

American Airlines, as usual, was shamed by Lufthansa. Two delayed flights for AA, and the crap they passed off as "food" was shameful.

The 45 minute flight to Prague had better food (whole grain bread and a slice of cheese) and it was free to boot. Lufthansa, thanks!

But DAMN! my dollars are weak like a sick kitten.

What do you know, another hotel that provides a computer for its´ guests. Their jukebox just played Elvis, John Denver, and whoever did that "Hen-e-ry the 8th (I Am, I Am)" song. Cool!

It seems to be National Italian Vacation Week, becuase I seem to be running into busloads wherever I go. Museums, restaurants, just walking down the steet, everywhere. I don't have a problem with it of course (well, in one particular museum it did kind of piss me off), but it is kind of weird, because the groups have 30 or 40 kids (mostly 16-19 years old) at a time.

And I keep kicking my shoes.

There's a lot of that particularly during summer. Last weekend we went to London and ran into a large tour of Italian school kids (with better clothes than I've ever owned...) and then later on a really large group of American kids - which was a first for me. Lucky ducks!!
Hope you have a great time, CC.

Thanks, IrishBookish. Curse the fates, I have returned to chez Cupcakes and "Real Life" is once again breathing down my neck. Perhaps "Perfect" is slightly too strong a word to describe the holiday I enjoyed, but it's close enough.

Another Italians story:
In Berlin, rather late, I stopped at an outdoor cafe to have a brewski. I was the only person seated at the 20 or so tables. A couple of people wandered out from the indoor portion and sat near me to have a smoke. These were Italians of course, and as I feared, soon several more left the cafe to sit outside, and then more, and then more, until half of the tables were filled, and I was once again in Germany surrounded by Italians. Truly a surreal circumstance-I just seemed unable to avoid these large groups no matter where I happened to be.

I noticed the large sunglasses were a favorite. As a Southern Californian, I was already used to seeing folks wear my paycheck.

KwaK, mission accomplished!

Damn. That snook up on me. We can't make it this year. Have fun and give Dr. Stanley our best. Also, say hello to Jack Cooke for me. I expect a full report.

Will do. Yeah, where the hell did that year go?

Too bad you can't make it, though. We're taking Cassady, our 8-year old. I'm sure she'd love to meet your girls.
No rush, though. We'll have many other opportunities... Dr. Stanley is booked at the festival through his hundredth
birthday.
