Gosh, I have such fond memories of Bettystown, though I suppose it has all changed now. Along with Butlins, Mosney, it was my favourite holiday destination as a kid. In fact, I was almost born there. My mom was on holiday there and fondly imagining she had at least another month of her pregnancy to go. I apparently had other ideas and a fast car was organised to take us the 30 miles to the Rotunda Hospital so I would not have to suffer the handicap of not being born in Dublin. :D

Lincoln's cool. Used to have some friends who lived there, so I've spent many a happy weekend there. It's got some good pubs, you'll be glad to hear. Though don't ask me what they're called, because they were good enough visits for me not to remember the names...

And it's not too far north. But it is damn hilly. Enjoy. :)

I had such a top time on my venture out of London. I really loved the place.. The cathedral was AMAZING.. and The Castle! We walked down Steep Hill and believe me it was Steep  passed lots of little tea rooms and lots and lots of little botiquey shops. It was so fucking class.

AND THE PUBS WERE AMAZING.

You don't remember the names of any of them, do you?

I always used to wonder how they thought up that name, "Steep Hill". Creative, they must have been.

Ooh yes, I remember those cobblestones... you should try them in the winter.

Not sure that fun's the word then... unless you're a dedicated skier.

As I remember them, they were lethal when they were wet. And if you got into a slide, there was no time to listen to any song (not even Bon Jovi ). Especially if the wind was behind you. There was just about time for your whole life to flash before your eyes...

No offence mate, but all you’ve done is go outside the M25 – you’ve not gone to some parallel universe!
