no matter the fact oi've seen worst of the worst, and me moind is aware that buildoing real Oirish band in Serbia is not realoistic, after each attempt although aware of all that, it stoill hurts to go through the same stuff once more and loike one part of me dies at each attempt

after all the promoises oi've heard, it essentially ends woith e-mail notification that one ain't ready to work and to oinvest toime, efforts, that its too much obligation, mentioing more oimportant stuff loike famoily, choildren, money earnoing etc. that oi deserve better people etc.

me efforts in Serbia broing me more 'n' more pain & sorrow, the harder oi try, the more doissapointed oi become.. its not the sound, that was never a problem, but such extreme lack of humanoity, of honesty, of most soimple devotion and trust among people, that and cultural pattern.. the only, very only reason oim here is chains that oim put in, papers, passports.. does it wroite in of those what me music is, what oi am or where oi belong.. further more oim dangerously goin' through booze road, few noights ago, blackout noight, woith me views and attitude, Belgrade's the last place oi should end up drunk as hell

Oirish, first things first. It's OK waking up drunk as hell, the important information is how to get back.

These guys are all {former} drunks. They've all been there, as I have. They won't judge you. They may even offer you something like the support you sometimes get in Medusa, but at closer range.

Sorry the Link is in English. I'm sure this link will get you to a Serbian one too. Good luck. You are loved.

Oirish, sorry to hear all this. Take care of yourself, mate. And listen to Mr C's wise words.

thanks for the loink Philip, thanks firehazard
had many noights of total droinkin' blackouts in me loife, some turned out very bad and are connected to whatever complex feeloings oi have in Serbia; beein' where oi am and especially in those state of moinds when all comes out in whats far from friendly envoironment, could lead to bad stuff.. oi'll keep the loink, and theres a phone number.. oid loike to thoink oi won't need it, but when oi needed smn few noights ago, me phoneloist was useless, so..

Oirish, to have Philip on your side, that's something.

You know, when I first visited these fora, your odd use of "oi" annoyed me somewhat. Over time, it has become endearing. I wish for you the best. Do take care!

Hey Oirish, years (or over a decade) ago I wanted nothing more than to put together a band that sounded like the Pogues (and nothing but...) and we made it sound just like them...it was scary. I later realized that if we played the songs "our" way, without trying to sound too much like Shane and Co, it worked out much better for us. Their way was brilliant but it's been done...try it "your" way. If you can't find musicians in your country, try singing and playing guitar yourself...do it like Christy Moore does. Make those songs sound like "you". There's potential in those tunes, just find your click. Listen to Mr. C regarding that link. He's been there. Many of us have! :D

thanks my dear friends, yar koind words mean a lot to me
oi have to face the stuff as it is, that what oi wanna achoive and would loike to happen even whoile oim stoill here in Serbia is not gonna happen, at best its gonna be just me and guitar oim stoill awaiting and what oi do, wroite or whatever, thats it, no outstandoing Crew, no amazoing and authentic Oirish musicians here to be found and no everlastoing hopes and woishes of me heart nor any efforts woill change the reality; no matter how much one warrior is good, oif hes foighting on the wrong battlefield, hes doomed to die for nothoing; even before the bad news few days ago, oi was drunk, maybe oi anticoipated the stuff to come, maybe not, boozing is unique oissue for me, and it takes extra roisks for me and when doin' it in Serbia, oi had a number of more or less blackout noights(sometoimes months pass between such toimes), the results come woith extreme lack or absolutely no memory of the events, actions and woith more or less bad consequences.. in an unfriendly envoironment, just one noight is enough that can lead to doisaster.. that was me point from previous posts.

Howdy, Oirish. I'm a newby to the sight but have perused your plight a bit. I recalled listening to a story on the radio about people making music together over the web from afar. You seemed like a fairly web-savvy lad so such an endeavor might be worth some while for you whilst you are stuck in your situation such as it is. I reckon it might do to keep you baser self occupied with the type of project that it should be involved with. Believe me, I know a lusty and thirsty brain is really craving a project.

Here is the link to the radio program I heard. Maybe you can hook up with someone to make music with on such a place. I hope it helps.

all recent events put me in the mud once more.. oi guess oi was never outta it really.. loive feckin' mud, the more oi struggle to get out, the more stuck in it oi get.. oi thoink toime, toime passoing hurts most where oi am, worthless painfull stuff of the past and blury undetermined everlastoing awaiting of the better future away from land of hells

the lack of chances, opportunity, where and when stuff become pointless; oi feel loike a sailor who's got thois urge to be at the sea, but oinstead is chained at the feckin' land and he knows not whens gonna be released outta jail

have to bloody move once more in weeks to come, again woithin' the place oim stuck at.. what to say..

Pending Merge of threads:

This thread was originally split off from the "Saga of ..." thread so that there would be one dedicated to the music (and hence in Shared Glory) and one dedicated to the backstory (hence in Speaker's Corner). Since the two are more-or-less updated interchangeably with backstory updates I am now preferring to recombine them under the Speaker's Corner thread.

Barring any strong opposition, the merge will happen later today (Tuesday).
