Just to be absolutely clear about this - IrishRover has been banned from the Paddy Rolling Stone (PRS) forum, not from Medusa. He mistakenly believes that we had something to do with Facebook removing his petition and has, of his own accord, left these fora. If he chooses to come back to Medusa we wont stop him.

Sorry, I was lumping PRS and Medusa in together with my comment inadvertantly, but Indrid did bring her story over here from PRS. And even though I am repeating myself I want to say it again: OIrish was banned from PRS for not complying with the rule that members must post in English (even though he had been posting with his OI's for years) because the subject just blew up again as it has done here many times where one member gets it into their head that they want him banned and then it becomes a free for all crucifiction. After Ingrid banned him (and used Medusan posts to justify her point that OIrish irritated many people) OIrish then made the comment in his frustration, about her being a Nazi whore. That comment, that one comment, gave fuel for everyone to lash out at him. How dare he say that to another person, even though he has been taunted and ridiculed, spoken about as though he wasn't there, called names, bullied. How dare he make a comment like that in frustration. Yet anyone who read the posts on PRS would have seen the nasty way it evolved. Craig's comments here still disgust me, as he had the power as a person who is liked by most, and caused so much damage (considering he called himself OIrish's friend) then in the aftermath, skipped over to PRS making friends and raising money for his own trip to Ireland and was loved for it. OIrish's dislike of managerial figures stems from this sort of thing. Ingrid had the power, posted stuff to justify her decision, listened to people who quoted stuff from Medusa then quoted it on PRS under the guise of secret information that she had to get clearance from in order to post it, making it seem like some sort of espionage, as though she were about to reveal some secret information that was going to prove OIrish guilty about something. OIrish was castigated. Ingrid supported, and those who didn't support her were talked down because Ingrid runs the site so she is not to be questioned. This is what happens here with you DzM, and although I have respect for one who runs a site for all the trouble they go to to keep it up, and the financial burden, I think it's ridiculous to pretend that they are never to be questioned because of that. I don't like to hold a person in charge with contempt but neither will I hold them on a pedestal and pretend everything they say is perfect. If I were running a site I would want to be treated like everyone else. People were so much trying to appease ''poor'' Ingrid that they were willing to sacrifice OIrish. Yes I know that some people defended him, but I just think that we could have all helped him more in a real practical way, not just with verbal support or offers of money, but to help him fulfill the requirements to get a permanent visa. OIrish lost the support of his friends when he needed them most.

The whole episode still makes me sad.

Certain people who are both on Medusa and FB (I assume they're probably also on PRS) made complaints about his petition. As it turns out Rovers petition did not meet the Facebook TOS (Terms of Service). Therefore it was deleted when reported to the big Face in the sky. Hopefully Oirish checks in and reads DzM's comments.

Jenny makes some strong points and I have to hold my own hands up and say I immediately defended Ingrid from Oirish's slur on her without fully taking into consideration the abuse Oirish himself had sucked up over the years. But what interested me about the whole episode was the almost Lenny Brucian fallout from the episode. Substitute "Nazi whore" for "cocksucker" in the extract from the famous Lenny Bruce routine and you'll see what I mean.

Then I discovered something: they liked saying 'cocksucker' - "he said cocksucker", "he called him cocksucker", "what a terrible thing to call somebody - cocksucker!"

It's this sort of comment that eventually led us to lose OIrish. Just this one comment has the power to bring out all the others who sit quietly on the sidelines, waiting for the chance to jump in like sheep and ridicule another human being. Just add a few more nails to the coffin. Show no understanding of a unique individual, someone who had so much to offer here. Show no kindness to someone who is in a worse position than most of us, who needed some real practical help from contacts in the place where he wanted to go, who, until the final provocation of banning, hardly said a bad word to anyone, who had a great sense of humour and intelligence.

Maybe Niall could provide us with a link, because I don't have a clue who he's referring to either.

Oirish, if you read this, here's wishing that 2010 is a year in which your dreams begin to come true. I'll raise a glass to you tonight.

I think Jenny and Heather were just looking for the smoking gun of which you refered too. You could explain or show certain items without revealing the private info.
