It certainly does, such as why I do not drink tea for instance.

But tea stinks, and so does coffee. Just the smell of it actually makes me want to gag. I just drink water all day, except Friday and Saturday evenings when nothing but alcohol passes my lips.

I had a meeting recently and we had a few noted guests (MPs mostly) attending. I was on my own when they arrived and one pipped up that they would love a cuppa. The problem is that in our offices we have all this fancy equipment for tea and coffee, but as I never touch the stuff I don't know how to use it. I paniced around the kitchen for a while but there was nobody else in to help, so I went back to the meeting room to announce that something was wrong with the tea and coffee equipement, but I had a jug of tap water and a carton of apple juice instead.

I sat down and started making polite conversation with the guests, only for my Director to walk in five minutes later... with a cup of tea.

So did you learn how to use the "fancy equipment" for next time?

I want to know what this "fancy equipment" you need to make tea and coffee is. A kettle? A teapot?

No.I have not learned how to use the fancy equipment. I have employed a secretary for that.

But the fancy equipment is some machine that you have to put some beans into, and some filters, and water, and sugar I think. Yeah I know, to all you tea and coffee experts I must seem like a right gobshite. But trust me, if you have never had the need to use this blody thing you wouldn't know where to start. It has more buttons on it than the bridge of the Enterprise.

Don't get me wrong, even I could figure out how to use a kettle. I think. :?

I love tea, but I've never had tea beans. Does Bertie Botts make those?

Tea is a lovely drink. I love Twinings Earl Grey above all other teas. I prefer my tea plain, but a lot of the times if the tea is a cheaper brand or something I put a bit of milk in it. I also know of a recipe for a wonderful orange tea. You get a bit of Tang powder and instant tea powder and a bit of sugar I believe. I an't sure of the proportions or if it's missing anything, but it's great.

Err. The flavor of what, exactly? Of tea? Of Ireland? How do you know the flavor of the tea was "Irish" exactly? I mean - I could scrawl "Irish Cola" on a bottle of Coca Cola, but that wouldn't actually make it Irish, if you know what I mean.

Could I breed Irish tea abroad? I think the Irish plants wouldn't make it within the foreign climate of Serbia.

I'd bet you could make it happen. Worst case scenario would involve setting up a closed botanical room (a greenhouse even) where you simulate Ireland's climate. Probably be much easier, though, to just buy/import tea on a regular basis.

I'm no expert, but they don't grow tea in Ireland. See 'Yorkshire Tea'

According to that Bastion Of All Knowledge, Wikipedia, Irish Tea (or more specifically Irish Breakfast Tea) is just a mix of various black teas, with an emphasis on Assam. Assam black tea is named for the area in India where its grown.

So ... Ummm ... I guess your greenhouse would need to be more like Assam, India than Ireland.
