ok, due to someone's cleverly oidea to ban me OIs slang expression(its now pretty much obvious cause my settoings are the same, profile, keyboard is ok; and although me repetious requests for tech support by staff oi got none of it), oi would l.oike to state that all symbols appearing in my posts are not produced by meself in any way, oi w.oill do me best to prevent symbols appearing by putting dots or whatever, but that w.oill surely make me previous wroitting noicer lookin' than in future; sadly cenzorsh.oip loives beyond Choina;

Have you ever thought of typing in a normal way, you know just like the rest of mankind?

Then the symbols wont be an issue and people will be able to make sense of what your on about.

Just a thought.

I have made several test posts (since deleted) using an approximation of Oirish's writing style and find the same thing has been happening to me. Can anyone explain why this happens? I'm sure Oirish is not being "censored" in any way, but it would be a pity if any Medusan were unable to express him or herself as s/he chooses. If there is a pirate on board which, by accident or design, turns Oirish-speak to symbols, perhaps it could be made to walk the plank?

If mocking of irish, english and readers is nothing but expressing oneself, why not mocking of the mocker then? It would really be a pity if there was such thing like less equal Medusians who are not allowed to express their attitude to vexers and their daub.
He has the right to torment most of Medusians ignoring polite requests to have mercy upon readers (if not tongues)? So do we - innocent victims of his self expression - we have the right to try and take symmetric steps. He is not banned or censored or taught what to do, he just reaps what he has sowed! His distorted loony pickles do not differ much from those symbols. He likes disfigurement - he got it! Too much of it? Undigestable? Ok, maybe. Let's see this as an alternative view at his priceless tribute.

Who exactly is this "we", Macrua? I do not have the power to desecrate or alter someone else's "daub" and I very much doubt that more than three people in total do. So who are these mythical "less equal Medusans"? I think we all know that no "mocking" intent is present in Oirish's posts, quite the opposite in fact. If you don't like them, don't read them.

MacRua, your ramblings here are almost as incoherent as the Rover's tend to be.

Why so angry?

Let the Rover wroite his way.

We are The English Tongue Preservation Society...
Let's see who'll name them. There were loads of those who expressed their discontent this way or another.

Do I get this right:

Oirish's style of writing is - probably automatically - changed into that "$^<<@#^"-stuff!?

I am not sure, if I am too happy about that. Especiall since it is obviously done in secrecy ( I actually thought that "$^<<@#^" was his new writing style ).

:(

More amazingly, this appears to be the source of a nasty rift between Philip and MacRua.

You call an exchange of opinions a "nasty rift"? :?

Sorry, MacRua, but if you are in effect preventing Oirish's posts from being read as he has written them, that seems like censorship to me. :(

And censoring someone's posts in this way seems plain wrong.

Well you did a bloody fine job of preserving the singular thou/plural ye distinction and the nominative ye and accusative you distinction. Thanks a lot.

Honor....dishonor....FUNNY IS FUNNY!

Have you ever thought of typing in a normal way, you know just like the rest of mankind?

We're all enjoying this......

So there exists something like plural.

Not even the ETPS can manage everything if users of the language are lazy to use sophisticated distinctions. :)
