It is my understanding that you have to upload the photo to a "hosting site" so that you can then post that URL on this site. Since I have my own domain for my business I upload photos to my domain. Lots of smart people on this site are more computer literate then this old dog so maybe one of them can explain better...

Thread for things that dont deserve threads

Post Thu Jun 05, 2008 1:21 am

Of the photos I've shot this year (there are lots and lots), I think I like this one the most:

It's a woman bundled up against the afternoon cold in San Francisco, waiting for a soup kitchen to open.

Yes I like that too. Do you find it difficult to decide a particular favourite? Such a variety of things touch me, it's hard to decide, therefore I find myself saying, 'One of my favourites...'

The woman in your pic looks freezing, though without meaning to be unsympathetic I couldn't help noticing her expensive looking shoes, (perhaps someone gave them to her?)

My most favourite images are often involve sea or boats or places nearby. I love ones with older style boats, old. oiled ropes spilling out from on the docks amidst discarded barrels etc. I truly love the sea, cliffs etc which I expect inspired the deep longing I always had to cross the ocean; hence my intention to one day own a small cottage close to the sea.

You need to have a URL or belong to Facebook, Myspace etc. If you don't have a URL just join Myspace or some other image hosting website maybe provided by your email provider.

1) Upload your image to your chosen URL/image hosting site first
2) Then once that's done, click onto the image and copy the 'address' line.
3) To post on Medusa, paste the copied 'address' line, highlight it, and click the box above which says, *Img*
4) Preview first, then submit!

If the image on your PC is too large, try this: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/ You can upload your images and their software will shrink it for you to download to your PC. Feel free to PM me with any glitches!

Look forward to seeing your images, Chinaski.

Yup! I noticed the shoes too! Then I remembered I give away fancy clothes to homeless shelters, but shoes? NEVER!

Allright - not sure if it´s a "good picture", but hopefully so :-)

I was taking photos of my yixing teaware today and I took a photo of tea being poured into a cup:

IrishBookish's comment elsewhere about being a shepherd, but carrying art supplies, reminded me of this image.

A few weeks ago a friend did a small black & white watercolor of another friend casting for fish at a lake near my house:

I enjoy it.

Pyro, that is beautiful.

It reminds me of a candid portrait.

This needs a caption:

"A Queen and Her Privates"
"The Queen, A Bishop, and the Fighting Men"

I'm sure there's more.

That is good. Sorry I didn't see it before.
When in Devon in April (taking Jenny around the galleries etc) We found a small gallery displaying the works of Anthony Amos - a painter of marine and figurative subjects. He uses his hands to paint and puts a kind of grease in his painting. When you're looking at a painting of a ship wreck you can smell a greasy bitumen smell. Your picture reminded me of some of his more simpler works.
