Those of us in the USofA note dates in the form of MonthDay rather than DayMonth. That makes today, March 14, Pi day: 3.14.
Yay maths nerds.

My philosophy major son announced recently his intention to learn Pi to the 1000th digit. A bet with a friend was settled on the 2nd day when said son could already rattle off the first 60 numbers. After a week or so, my husband witnessed a correct recitation of about 120 digits. Ah, to be young...

Today was the day Shane was hit by that taxi in 1986.
I get google alerts on the band to hear about shows or tickets and this came through today on my BlackBerry and I thought it was something that just happened and couldn't believe he had been hit twice by a taxi. Talk about bad luck. Thankfully I didn't hit the car in front of me out of shock. Then I realized they meant it happened on this date a long time ago. Phew!

My Daily milestone was to not strangle my two 8 week old puppies this morning. 4:45am....howling, whining and barking to get out of the kenel. FUCK. Every day! For the last 5 weeks! On SUNDAY even.
I would make a terrible human parent.
Of course then they come pouncing out of the pen and treat me like I am the greatest thing EVER. *sigh*
Gotta love dogs.

Surely not. Unless you mean you'd keep your children in a kennel. In which case, probably yes.

Thirty years ago on the 30th I was wed in my mom and dad's yard to my wonderful husband, after a whirlwind courtship and against all reason.

And
against all reason always seems to lead to the best and most lasting. Congratulations, Esther and Mr Esther. Here's to many more years.

Congrats, but after 30 years, you'd reckon there may have been some reason?

Well done Esther. Great to hear of love "against all reason".

Thanks, all! Perhaps I ought to have said "against all conventional reason." Being married 30 years sure makes a person feel older than dirt.

I officially filed a MIA report for O'Blivion.
seriously. Where is he?
How am I suppose to go through life not knowing what happened on today's date?
Has he been hit in the head?
Did he lose his mind and wander off?
DId he change his name and run away to follow The Grateful Dead (having not gotten the "Jerry's dead" memo like so many others)..
WTF?! This sucks.
