It's a Godin, which is an acoustic-electric. I used it a lot in the early 90s but now I tend to use it only on "Sunnyside Of The Street". It has a better "cut" than the Martin I otherwise use. I use a Telecaster as my main guitar with The Radiators, though nothing so grand as a '72 model.

I love Godins, don't you? I have a mandolin of it and two of my pupils have an electric guitar from them. They're lovely to play!

They're great for live work and if our front-of-house sound man Paul Scully had his way, the Godin would again be my main guitar. But on the downside, they lack the acoustic response you get from a real live Martin Dreadnought.

Philip and all the boys - thanks again for a great run - you were all in great form and we all had such a good time. Please come back next year. Have fun in Wash but remember that St. Paddys is always better in NYC!!!

I just found their website. They look like beautiful guitars. Interesting sound holes and where some of them are placed on the body.

Thanks a lot! I was just happy that the lighting was brighter this year :) Out of the 5 times I've photographed the shows over the last few years, I thought the lighting was the best it's ever been.

Yet another great show in NYC! This was the best I've seen Shane yet, you could understand him so well and he had so much interaction with the crowd this time not to mention he stayed on his own two feet the whole show!

It's so good to see you're doing well Philip! The crowd has so much respect for you and I hope you can see that, plus it was the only song during the show that my ribs got a break from being crushed against the barricade. My mom brought you Good & Plenties because she was telling me she read about how those "pink and white licorice torpedoes" were you're favorite american candy and hers too haha that's moms for you!

I got my mom into listening to you guys so seeing you is something special we get to share every march and hope it continues for years to come!

My boyfriend got him and I tickets to see you in Boston on Friday for my birthday, so excited I only had to wait a week instead of a year to see you wonderful gentlemen again!

Guys, awesome show Fri, just wish I could've made Saturday too! You guy kicked ass as always!
I especially liked when Shane wanted to play Rainy night in Soho a little too early and Spider had to talk him out of it until the encore. I gotta admit these 45 yr old legs ain't what they used to be, I was a sore f**k! Guys come back soon to NY, once a year isn't enough.

Shane was not so much talked out of it as reminded that he had just skipped a number of songs on the set list.

There was however an extra verse to "Dirty Old Town."

Apparently Shane kisses lots of girls by the factory wall...

That said, the show was excellent. So good to see The Pogues still going strong.

I took my 13-year-old daughter, it was her first Pogues show and she was so excited! We had a wonderful time.
