Yes, I knew that as well. Just a brain fart in my old age. I do live in South Dakota after all. For some reason I just don't remember the red crown on the chicken. However, it must have been a rooster based on Andrew's comment.

What I meant was, "Was it a rooster or a hen".

I heard that Shane spent all his time huffing nitrous in a black tent with hookers and an elephant. And that he's preggers. And that Spider (the banjo player) and Jem (the accordion dude) totally had to cover for him by singing Waltzing Mary and performing some instrumentals ... I read somewhere that Metropolis was one of them.

I should also mention that I was dealing OK with my jealousy until I began hearing tales of Meowhouse's phototaking. Now I've graduated to outright envy. And your review/travelogue - Raging envy. Much more of this and I'll be beside myself.

I did put up five pictures last night. Have more but they're not done yet.

Yes, I was struck by that one too. I have an acquaintance who has a particular weird obsession with, erm, sorry, I mean artistic interest in, pictures of accordions, and I know will love that one. Great photos altogether, thanks.

Thanks so much. I haven't even looked at them all yet so I'm sure there will be a few more decent ones. I only took about 180, which is low for me. (180 of The Pogues, I think about 85 for Dan.)

Re the James picture: I only took it that way b/c it was so hard to see him otherwise! I wish Spider hadn't been cut off and I could have cropped him out but thought the shot looked better with the framing of the speakers on both sides, so I left him in. Next time I'm wearing higher-heeled boots for sure.

I did get some nice individuals of everyone; they're just not up yet. I think even Andrew's came out pretty well even, which is unusual b/c drummers are the hardest to shoot.

Yeah I can never get a shot of Andrew and sometimes for me it's hard to get shots of Terry and Daryl because they are in dark sections of the stage. I'll have to try tomorrow.

the local buzz is still building everyday re Mon's show . . . it's def on its way to *legendary* status - one thing I forgot to mention is hearing Shane's "scream" during Whiskey and Fall from Grace (1st two numbers) - after not experiencing it for 20 years these were truly goose-bumping (not chicken-bumping) moments . . . he soooo still has it! Made me remember that building in Dublin (near Temple Bar dist) where all the windows have been painted over w portraits of Irish greats - Yeats, Wilde, Beckett etc. . . and Shane . . .

Mr. C. Hope I'm not presuming, but I didn't realize you were a Bob Mould fan. Workbook is in fact one of my favorite pieces of work by any artist. Bob Mould - in my opinion, a constant jockeying between spewing simple anger and poetic eloquence, love and hate, sadness and hope, optimism and reality....he's an "every man's" songwriter, but doing it in a way that most can't. Much like Chris Difford writes about the everyday, mundane things in life, but makes them feel like the most important, "life or death" situation."........
