Candida and Mary-Jane: I only learned after the show that your passes had not reached the box office in time. Our tour manager sought you out after the show to no avail. He joins me in apologizing that your request was not met in time. In mitigation, we can only plead opening night disorder and hope we will have an opportunity to say hello to you on another occasion.

The show last night was amazing. I have never before seen the Pogues live, but I really love the music. I had no idea that Shane was so unbelievably out of control, Spider Stacy and the other guys really kept things together all night, kudos to you guys for holding the show together through that mess! You were still spectacular! Shane needs to go to rehab lol. Did he have a stroke at some point? lol, he sounded like it! Come back again sometime, please! (maybe just with Spider Stacy singing this time? He was really good!)

Phil, thank you for your kind message. I feel like bloody crying! I tried so many times to get messages back to you. The people in the box office were quite standoffish and didn't want to look into it. I also tried to get messages to security and they also said they couldn't give messages to you. We had a great time and were right in the front row and it was us who gave Shane the yellow bear. I thought the show was fantastic and that the you, the band, and Shane were on top form. No sign of any mess from where I was standing. Well there is only one way to fix this...I'm going to have to come and see you again and hopefully get to say hi then!

fiesta into the irish rover? that is so awesome! from a musical standpoint i always thought it was just a perfect segue (from hearing it on the ultimate collection live side) that kept the energy at a peak. i've always wanted to hear it done that way. that's so cool!

how was the energy there? the crowd?

Actually, that's an error. As usual, Dog finished the first encores and Fiesta the second.

My wife and I went to the Florida show and it was truly a magical experience. We have both been fans for many years and have always wanted to see The Pogues live, but due to various circumstances this was our first chance to catch them and it will never be forgotten. I just want to thank the band and Philip Chevron in particular for making the trip to Florida and giving us such a spectacular show!

how was the energy there? the crowd?

Yes sorry, as I say not from memory, I was having so much fun, (and had consumed a few drinks!) that the time seemed to zoom by in a flash. From my personal recollection I just couldn't believe how many great songs kept coming out one after the other. Great energy from the band. As for the crowd, not huge amounts of people from what I could tell. What happened though, is we managed to get front row, and from that point in time, I didn't really look back. There was a good mix of different people down where we were, and they were all really friendly and just happy singing and enjoying the show. No moshing or anything though, it just wasn't that type of crowd. Despite that, two people did decide to get up on stage and dive off into the front couple of standing rows (lots of other people were seated). One of them launched himself off of my mum like a spring board and he's really hurt her back so that was not good. Now of course you do expect some craziness at these things but it wasn't that sort of crowd and we felt safe where we were. There were lots of young ladies in the front and he cold have really hurt someone. I felt worried for the band as well, you never know who might be jumping up there for what intentions. I find myself trying to recall every moment so I can replay it in my mind but I just can't piece it all together in one string. I imagine that the energy levels will be very pumped and ever increasing as the show moves on.

it sounds like you all had a blast! yeah the pre show drinks always seem to help mix the show up in my mind, too. but it's soooooo much fun!

and you were able to get a set list? that's so cool! i took my mom and dad to their first pogues gig in vegas in 2006 and my mom was given a set list by one of the stage hands. i've got it framed with the ticket stubs.

speaking of parents, i'm sorry to hear about the stage diver hurting your mother. unfortunately there are some people that act without thinking and the results can be rather serious. i hope she gets to feeling better and i hope she enjoyed herself besides her injury.

for the most part it sounds like an enjoyable evening.
