Shane sang Cotton Fields. He was in great form, no missing lyrics, sheets or timing.

Forgot to say that they have a three piece brass section all gig. Sounded brilliant on Metropolis and the Guns of Navarone instrumental in Body of an American.

Bottles thrown at band is shite. Too many drunk teenagers who only know Fairytale and Rover. Not like that in my day! i'd have got a clip around the ear in the pit at the Town and Country Club In 1988 when i was 18 by a real fan!!

First Pogues gig and truly enjoyed it. I was a bit worried when they went off stage that they weren't going to play my favourite song , Sally Mac.
Don't think the bottle were aimed at the band think, a couple of drunk people throwing their beer randomly or trying to hit the security at the front. Only downside of the night where the 50 year woman who decided to stand at the front and the complain when they were pushed about or beer was thrown.

Beer was served in plastic bottle originally then after a while they served it in cups.

This is bang out of order. People of any age should be able to get close to a band they love, even though I appreciate people like to have a dance to the Pogues, there clearly wasn't any room to do that at the front so it's just rude in my opinion to start 'moshing' around into people

Great night, liek the venue, althoguh was there last year couldn't appreciate as much as was only down the back.

Shane seemed in great form, running around the stage, looked quite jolly and looks to have lost a bit of weight too.

Was it my imagination or did he say "salaam allaikum" just bvefore turkish?

this was my first pogues show ever! I was kicked out from a march DC gig last year 5 minutes before they came on stage... so i was really looking forward to this... took a 7 hour bus trip from Galway and ended up front row center, original setlist in my hand, getting backstage passes, and then going back to their hotel for a couple of beers. then at 3 am taking the 7 hour bus trip to galway... what a night!!

my favorite moment of the night... after the show giving shane my last cigarette, then realizing i still needed a light.. so i took the cigarette from his mouth, lit mine, and handed it back to him. GAHH WHAT A NIGHT!

# Shane MacGowan Sparks Health Fears On Pogues Christmas Tour Add to My Fav Bands List More The Pogues

Shane MacGowan has sparked health fears after he was pictured looking worse for wear at a gig in Belfast.

The musician appeared to have cuts on his face and clung to what looked like a packet of pills during a performance at the King's Hall.

The concert on Saturday was the opening night of The Pogue's annual Christmas tour.

The trip, in support of their infamous Christmas song 'Fairytale of New York', continues tomorrow night (December 9h) in Leeds.

The teeth, or lack of, are what they are, and I’ve no idea re the pills, but I’d hazard a guess from looking at him the cuts to his face are from shaving!!!

He doesn't look any better/worse on any of those photos than he has looked for the best part of 10 years. He just looks like Shane. What do they expect him to look like? Brad Pitt?

Gutter Press again.

Belfast was an amazing show despite my beer drenched hair. Unfortunately it seems to be the price you pay if you want to be up front with a bunch of fucktards behind you wasting their beer. Shane has definitely lost weight and delivered a terrific performance. And yes, it was Ella Finer on Fairytale. On to Leeds now! :D

yeah its fuckin well annoyin when people complain int it, if you dont like it dont go in middle or whatever! My girlfriend at Gmex last year said "is it gunna be pushin an all that lot" i said "gunna be more than that, be worse than a fuckin metal gig this love!" She lasted bout 2 minutes into gig an she were straight out of way! haha. Its what its all about tho! lettin your hair done an havin fun. Went to see Nick Cave & bad seeds at hammersmith last year an it were like been stood in a fuckin Art Gallery! A woman an her daughter complained that i were gettin into it a bit, i said i ant drove 5 hours to stand around like a morbid cunt! you go stand somewhere else!

Were they the same 3 guys who played at the New York City shows last March? (I think they were Marseille Figs). They were fun. I also liked what they added to Fiesta.

Hope Metropolis or Cotton fields survives to the upcoming March shows.
