NY, March 17, 2008

Post Tue Mar 18, 2008 6:10 am

The place was fucking empty tonight compared to the last 2 nights. There were no beer or bathroom lines the entire time we spent there.Sunday night was insane...gotta agree with previous posters...way,way more rowdy than Saturday night..so to put a bow on it,Pogues & Shane,performance-wise,1st night by far the best,2nd night Billy Bragg was so good,he could've headlined himself,Shane a little more tipsy, led the band astray a few times, but that does happen.Tonight, the 17th,Shane was a touch more out of it ,but he still always seems to kick it into gear as the show goes on.Actually,as Shane goes, last night & tonight were pretty close, the 1st night was outstanding. So all 3 nights had their positives...all around night 1 was the Pogues best...Billy Bragg night 2,need not say more...night 3 ,the pleasure of having room to breathe & enjoy the show was a welcome experience after 2 crazy ass nights.Very odd that it was St. Paddys & it was so toned down.

I'm shocked it didnt sell out last night for Paddys day but
the closing number, Fiesta, was the best thing I've heard
live from anyone, ever.

What a great show it was.Had a great view from the left side of the stage, dancing and singing along.Seeing Phil on guitar doing his spins,James with his leap and power slide,Terry and Spider giving each other the finger,Shane and his dancing, the overall musicianship of the band, the lovely Ella Finer doing FONY,what a wonderful voice. The Pogues deserve to be in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.Period.I salute the band and hope for continued health for you all and that you continue to bring joy to all your fans. Thanks for a great night of music and entertainment.

That would probably be Tuesday Morning.

Couldn't keep up with the setlist... Kitty was fantastic, as the entire show. Ollin & WEW coming out for Fiesta was FECKING BRILLIANT!!! I too was surprised how "calm" it was up front. I stood about 2-3 deep from the front just in front of Jem, and only a few bumps...no bruises! Bonus!

I'm afraid not. We were fortunate that her own schedule just happened to find her in New York at the same time as ourselves.

Philip

Wonderful to see you back and healthy. Couldn't make any shows this year to my dismay. Made Chicago last year and I must say I have never seen a better live show, period amen. I am hoping Chicago will be on next years list, even better would be Minneapolis to start or finish a West Coast tour this year, or spring 2008 .... any chance ??

I was lucky enough to make it to both Saturday's show, and last night's show.
Last night, however, was probably the most fun I have EVER had at a show.
I got home, and went to bed with a hoarse voice, tired legs, and a smile on my face.
Thank you!

We enjoyed all three New York shows, though our consensus is that last night was the best of the three from a performance perspective.
