Thank you Pogues for an amazing evening. I never been thought about summer in Siam as a classic, but in Brixton the true beuty of the song shone throu. Never seen Shane so good before pure class and that goes offcourse for the rest of the band. See you next year i hope.

Marke998 you are just joking right???

Summer in Siam was fantastic at the GMEX, great to be able to hear it again.

I was at the 19th show at Brixton. When the band came on, I could tell by the look on thier faces that it was going to be a rough night for Shane. And yes he did slur quite a bit. However, he did have a good deal of moments. I thought Dark Streets of London was great and I was real impressed not only that he did 1000's are Sailing in his state, but that he did it so well ( although not as optimisitic or beautiful as Philip though). I was surprised that he did Transmetroplin in his state but not so surpirsed that he mumbled most of it. My memory can be spotted but I seem to recall Shane fallining into the PA speaker at the end of the night and Joey having to come up and pull him out.

I guess I don't really know the point I am trying to make is . Sure it was not Shane's best night, but I wouldn't say it was even anywhere close to his worse or even the worse of the last seven years.

I saw this show and the one in Dublin and went to Amsterdam in between. The band was better in Dublin, but lost the Brixton crowd madness.

Anyway, Happy Holidays to all.

Quick question....

Was at Brixton Dec 19th - who was the geezer who came on and did a song near the end? Macgowan went off to the right of the stage while the bloke did his number.

Excuse me for the lack of knowledge, quite a new convert, but the name of the song would be great too.

Ta.

Andrew Ranken

Star Of The County Down

Andrew is perhaps best known as the drummer with The Pogues.

If the song was about some star of the county down all the evidence points towards Mr. Ranken.

Do you recall if "the bloke" probably spent most of the evening behind the drumkit? 8)

On the remastered version of "Peace and Love".

And, btw, the album is an album by the Pogues
