The best concert I've ever been to, I'm sorry I didn't save up more money and went for more shows, I will next year! Surprised to see the shape Shane was in, amazing performance!

NO, they did NOT play Young Ned of The Hill or Boys From The County Hell, and not The Irish Rover either, but they did so good that were hardly missed.

I was surprised that they opened with Transmetropolitan, and even more surprised they played Poor Paddy :D And Star of The County Down!!! Love that song. Who was the guest singer?!

Definitely worth coming "all the way" from Norway, already counting the days till next christmas :D Beeing that they play then, of course.

to write down or remember a set list. lord knows i wouldnt.

Well I submitted the set list from San Francisco the night of the show which DzM confirmed by photograph the following day. I was hoping for some reciprocation from our European friends.

our lot get too pissed to remember a full set list, i'd love to say i will put one up after sundays gig but i know i'll be down the front unable to write a list and enjoying it too much to remember a song for song list- i will try though, i know what its like not knowing- appologies on behalf of the UK tour crowd

All is forgiven. Enjoy the shows...

"Guest" singer for Star of the County Down would be Andrew Fucking Ranken. (it is usually him anway, i wasnt there so i'm not a reliable source)

Is Andrew Fucking Ranken the same as Andrew Ranken the Drummer?

Well, I'm just glad they pulled their heads out of their asses for these shows. IDK, maybe the West Coast is not the place for the Pogues. It might be good if they gave this side of the world a miss next year. Stay in their little Pogue pond. We are just too awesome for them. They can't seem to handle the pressure of LA/OC greatness.

Probably they were a little freaked out seeing DzM's kilt...

Mike Ness/Social D aside, OC is hardly a haven of greatness. I don't think Spider,Shane,Chevron, etc. fear the wrath of Mickey Mouse that you portray.

All I know is that they'd better fucking play Los Angeles next year, because right now the only thing in the whole world (hyperbole) I want to do is see them play Transmetropolitan, Dark Streets of London and Fairytale. I'd try to make it to New York but I'm in school so I don't have, like, any damn money.

P.S. Isn't it sort of blasphemous to not know the singer of County Down is indeed Andrew Fucking Ranken?

I think it is a good sign that the Pogues are still pulling in new blood and don't have to rely on us old timers to sell tickets.

Tremendous - 15th time I have seen the lads and the 1st that I have heard them do Poor Paddy live - I went mental.

As for songs they did/did not play - with a back catalog of songs that the Pogues have, you will never hear every one of your favourites at the one show - there is not enough time.

With regards to Star of the County Down - no shame in not knowing who Andrew Rankin is - as my esteemed colleague said - we should be welcoming newer fans with open arms to the scene.

As for "Guest" with the statement re: Los Angeles and Orange County - To see these guys perform at this stage in their careers is an event to be enjoyed. Your comments - at best - make you sound like a complete idiot who has no conception of the importance the Pogues had in music 1983 - today. Remember that this forum is for fans of the band and, as such, people should support the pogues rather than use ill considered boasting of regional areas to berate them.

I wouldn't fret too much about our Southern California Guest and his grumpy ways. I suspect that s/he is the same guest being so vocal about the Anaheim show in this thread:

Some people enjoy the experience, and some people enjoy being pissed off. C'est la vie.

Forgot to mention the best part of the Glasgow show:-

James, in full flow, diving off the drum kit onto his knees - proper rock and roll!!!
