It was absolute a brilliant night. Rainy Night In Soho has also been played yesterday and it was definetely the best live version I ever heard. You can hear every worth Shane was singing, absolutely stunning!

Also the compliments to the interim guitar player. He did really a good job. But the beautiful Thousands Are Sailing was really somehting missing in the setlist. Hope we can hear that at the end of the year. As we speak about it. Is there some information about the christmas gigs or when can we expect more information about it?

It was an absolutely brilliant show!
At last I've seen The Pogues live, never tought I would. Especially not in my own country :D .
I was quite excited the days before the show (who wouldn't be  ). I knew it was going to be brilliant, but with a group like The Pogues you never know how it's going to be; it's a reunion tour, how will Shane be?
But these slight doubts were blown away from the moment they walked on stage. Shane looking particulary healthy (in his own way), I knew that it was going to be a mind-blowing show.
And it was, better as I could ever imagine! This was a show that I'll remind as the best I've ever seen!

thank you Shane and others for this immaculate and unforgettable gig
i nearly lost my voice and i'm bruised but completely happy now

after three gigs in England it was great to see the band back in Belgium again. some people were worried each time Shane left for a while but he seemed in great spirits

unfortunately i've never seen the Pogues in their full line-up in Belgium, but I enjoyed every gig of them:
1989 Deinze: no Terry
1993 Brussels: no Shane
1994 Windorock: no Shane, Terry & James
1996 Ghent: same + Spider gravely ill
I'm still hoping

Nice pictures you've taken Mick.

My evening was terrific and I will never forget it. The gig was AWESOME! Pogues on fire! And look at that setlist!
Got to meet some medusans, some very fine medusans btw!
And this morning when I put back my favorite LP cover, that I took out of the frame yesterday, it had all this funny writing on it!! :D
Spider went round for me and got every pogue to sign it. (everone but..; I left one big square white for one more.. ) They were all so nice!!
Thank you pogues! (and girlfriends  ) for the greatest evening!!

Hey Mick, I never saw that flask coming my way..

Hello Munsterpaddy
Yes, they were absolutely brilliant, especially Shane seemed to enjoy himself and didn't miss hardly any line.
Thanks for the setlist, but I think you missed Rainy Night in Soho

Lokerse Feesten

Post Mon Aug 13, 2007 11:17 pm

In spite of this unforgettable concert, where we were in touch with the roots of Ireland, the basics of folk, the rebelness of punk music, the tragic and enjoyable charisma and voice of Shane, there was a lot of Lokeren-youth around us who were only interested in blowing, sniffing and talking about nothing. We were on the left side.
Very disturbing indeed, and shame on those youngsters.
But nevertheless: who cares anyway! It was really a great great concert.

PS: Evan Dando, did you really get paid for this embarrassing performance?

I was thinking the very same thing myself James. Really good.

That's one vote in favo(u)r each from an Arts-Degree-Pogue and one from a non-Arts-Degree-Pogue. Who can tell if they'll ever get used now? Outside of the photographer's excellent private collection anyway.......

Yeah you fuck! You were standing backstage  Funny moment when in Streams of Whiskey I showed my flask to Shane, drank a dram, Shane laughed and some annying Belgian security guy came up and wanted to take it away from me. Some other security guy came up and said fuck you against him and took a sip :D

I still have bruised ribs by the way
