For the people visiting the gig tonight in Lokeren, here's some basic information about the festival.
1st band plays at 8pm (De Heideroosjes), 2nd band at 9.15pm (The Lemonheads), The Pogues play at 11.45pm! After the Pogues there is a DJ who will play until 2.30
At 10pm you can watch the fireworks being lit off at the banks of the Durme river next to the festival ground.
Doors open at 7pm, you can buy drinks for 2 euro (get your drink tokesn first) and some of the finest specialities to eat such as horse sausages from Lokeren (worth a try!), pizza, escargots (snails), pancakes, and of course Irish coffee.
For pre and afterparties you can visit our local celtic pub (not sure what the name is, I only know that I always come out pissed) which is very close to the festival ground, you just have to cross the river. Another nice place is 'Het Bierhuis' (translation: House of Beer) where you can taste more than 150 belgian beers for very moderate prices.
At 2.30 the town has to be silent so afterparties will continue inside from that point on, there are some clubs you can go to or of course the pub.
'Lokerse Feesten' is not the only festival going on during these ten days, we have two more! They are called Fonnefeesten and Polyphonics and are all within a five minutes walk if you are interested in visiting the place.
The festival ground can hold 15000 people, it was only sold out twice this edition (for Pink and the Prodigy) and it is very cosy. If I may suggest a nice place: go to the left side of the stage. This side a wee bit smaller than the right and has more facilities: bars are closer, more toilets and frequently more place to watch the shows. Of course you are free to go wherever you want, the festival is nice, you will enjoy yourself.
Oh yes, Stella Artois is served as the main beer, you can also drink Kriek or soft drinks. You can also get Whiskey at the William Lawson's stand.

SO, I hope you had enough information to survive this night and maybe we'll meet, I'll be wearing my Bushmill's shirt so if you come along say hello!

Greetings from Lokeren!
Bruno

I'm jealous...

I always thought French food was my favorite until I ate at a Belgium restaraunt near Montreal. The Belgium beer was also exceptional.

Gig was AWESOME!!! Shane was in such good form! You know I really had the idea he knew where he was and what he was doing. I had some eyecontact with him a few times because I was screaming so loud when he announced Kitty and Pair of Brown Eyes.

Another hightlight for me was Andrew doing Star of County Down.

I have made a few pics and I think I have an awesome one of Spider hitting his tray but will upload that as soon as I get up in the morning. I am too tired now

Ow some other detail was that James' accordian failed before Lullaby of London (I think) and he played piano after that. Lullaby of London sounded really different but still soooooooooo good!

Man what a night! :D
