2004 Reunion - Dublin

Post Fri Dec 24, 2004 1:20 am

Went to the gig last night and had a blast, was right at the back in the circle trying to find space enough to jig my heart out, met a guy there who was on the phone to his friend in Houston Texas, i shouted something unintellible down the phone to his friend then carried on dancing, although I did ask the same guy for a sip of his drink later, if that guy is you then drop me a line to nelly6_8@hotmail.com, hope you remember me - you were sweet x

I have to admit that I never thought these forums would be a match-making kind of place.

This is so totally cool!

what a gig! best ive ever been to, maybe best i ever will be to!

Started with streams of whiskey . . .Marvellous! boys from the county hell - amazing, macgowan sounded great, young ned of the hill greatly appreciated, ronnie rew on irish rover was great, yeah yeah yeah yeah the unexpected song of the night, brilliant, ranken great on star of the county down!

aon focal eile introducing old main drag macgowan you're a legend, phil thousands are sailing sounded great, well done.

thanks to the pogues for one of the best nights of my life

found it funny to see mini-rocker\avril lavigne heads at this gig, quite encouraging!

if anyone can get me a "happy christmas your arse" hat ill love them forever, thank you POGUES!!!!!!!

my 16th pogues gig and one of the best ive ever seen.reminded me when they were at their peak in the mid to late eighties.shane only fucked up a couple of times and during white city he did the dance like in the video. strems and fall from grace were almost ramonic in their pace.great sound, great songs from a legendary band.cait looked well and enjoyed herself.james fearnley, how does he do it?unforgettable

dublin concert 23/12/2004

i was at the dec 23 gig in the point depot.not sure if it was sold out cos i was in the pit but it was fantastic.started with streams of whiskey and kept the tempo up throughout.everyone in the whole place sang every single word, including macgowan.he was brilliant.he defied the smoking ban which is in place here with an ever present cigarette and pint of vodka.shane left the stage after every couple of songs and the band would either play a reel or one of them would take the mic.fantastic.cait oriordan was a great contrast to shanes 'rasping' tones.but the whole night was perfected by the appearance of ronnie drew, complete with cigar and crisp suit, for the encore.

Would be lovely...
It was on the 23rd of June
As I lay blasted in my room
A small bird sang on an ivy branch
And the song they sang was the "Jug of Punch"
