I have no desire to be in the front row with the likes of you. I'd much rather have some elbow room and a good vantage point to take in the show. Just the fact that you call Philadelphia "Murder City" tells me what kind of nitwit you really are. Funny that of all the people posting in this thread you're the only one acting like an ass. Do you work at the EF?

Also, um... whoever it was. Yes, the Radiohead show was August 24th 1997. Twas during the OK Computer tour. I must have gotten my dates mixed up.

Last night I ran into an old friend of mine that was with me at the Ramones show in 1996. The memories were a'flowing, but of course he was jealous of my multiple Pogues adventures.
I keep my clothes on the floor because I have skeletons in my closet.

Yeah, I think actually Philly is something like 12th on the list of "Murder Cities". Behind Flint and Detroit and Baltimore and even Reading PA. I know in 2005, Pine Bluff Arkansas was #1. (I lived there for a few months in 1975. It sucked.)

I have been to Philadelphia MANY times and have never once been murdered. Mugged, robbed, and hit in the head with a sort of David-and-Goliath device which featured a rock and a leather strap, YES, but never murdered.

Speaking of Goliath...that opening act sucked. I was giving them a lot of slack, being young'uns and all, until I realized that the ONE song they played which had any sort of song structure (picking up a thread from someone else's post) was a friggin' Elton John song. "I Can Feel The Love Tonight", I think. Performed without any discernable trace of irony. I turned to the guy next to me and said "THEY have betrayed our trust."

I might've even felt sorry for the one guitarist when his guitar quit working during their last song, and he was reduced to swinging it around with a sheepish look on his face, if not for that damnned Elton John song.

My all time favorite phrase;I discount anyone who says it.

There was ever so much room, rather refreshing...a walk in the park.

Actually, every news station in America is calling it that...current events.I just find it funny!"Out of the ten most populous cities in the United States in 2006, Philadelphia had the highest homicide rate at 28 per 100,000 people."I don't find murder funny, but rather the timing of the media fixation, which ya'll somehow missed ,on the ridiculous title.I happily walked through the beautiful city after hours.I don't believe the hype...but it is funny.

You have got to be kidding! Bitching and moaning over minor details EXCLUDES YOU from being an ass? Topsy-turvy world.

Every employee of The Electric Factory I encountered was friendly and helpful and I simply take offense at your portrayal of them.

I don't know about all THAT, but here's a picture of me in the front row. I appear to be praying, perhaps to the bust of the Blessed Mither
which graced Philip's Vox AC-30.

Notice my green fingernail polish. My buddy Marc (who took this photo) and I wear "warpaint" to all important social functions.

Wonderful pictures! Thanks for posting them. Even some twenty-plus years later, the Pogues are still the smartest dressers in show business.
