This was the show that I was going to originally see, but I couldn't take any leave in time to see the show. My friend Gary and I were going up to see them, but we both had to work. But, now I'm seriously regretting missing the show. I would have loved to hear them play Kitty, Poor Paddy, The Auld Triangle, and even Greenland Whale Fisheries when I saw them live in Atlantic City last year. Anyway glad to here the show and the tour is going great and Happy St. Patrick's Day to all the fellow Medusans and to Mr. Chevron and the rest of The Pogues.

After trekking around in the unrelenting snow/raining ice in Philly all day (among the worst winter conditions I've seen and I'm from Minnesota), it was a beauteous thing to see the Pogues come on stage. Another awesome show, looked like the band was having a great time.

Photos from Philly

Post Sun Mar 18, 2007 6:00 pm

I didn't ask for a photo pass this year because I just wanted to enjoy the show, but I snapped a few pictures anyway with a cheap point & shoot. Like I said in an earlier post, awesome show and it was impressive everyone made it out in that weather. Thanks again guys.

Oh my GOD yes. My Sweetheart, my two best pals and I - same crew that saw the last night at the Nokia last year - had the absolute best time possible. Right at the rail in front of Messrs. Wood and Chevron all night, with the added bonus of meeting Maestro James Fearnley afterwards.

We had a gig to play last night, and the attendant hangover today, so I haven't had a chance to post anything in detail - but I intend to. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen.

Efflusive thanks to Philip, thanks and praises to Shane, thanks to James for taking the time to speak with us afterwards, thanks to all the Pogues, thanks to the limo/bus drivers who got the Pogues to Philly and back in the worst weather in memory. In fact thanks to everyone who had anything to do with making that night happen. It was nice to meet Frances, and Matt and his mom. Wish I could've made your acquaintence too - but hey, we share a phenomenal experience neither of us will ever forget. We'll always have Paris, er, I mean, Philadelphia.
Disclaimer: These are my opinions and not fact as realised in these here United States, lest I give my friends the idea that everyone thinks like me.

So glad you guys made it to a legendary gig. Your silence had me concerned. I thought you may have been in a state of (Alonzo) mourning, due to missing the show. Just found out today, that two of my buddies made it to the show. We couldn't find each other on Friday night. They got stuck in a bank on 222 on the ride home, but thankfully a salt truck pulled them out. Your right, the whole night was a phenomenal experiece. At the last rest stop on 76 (on our way to the show) we ate at The Burger King. Some guy started preaching real loud to everyone standing in line.. He said that Burger King allowes you to "have it your way.", but that in order to have eternal life, you must have it Jesus' way. Shortly after this, we saw a deranged man walking around dressed just like Ben Franklin. That rest stop is always a strange place. Seems like it's stuck in a time warp or something. After we got on the Surekill Expressway, the back window/ door of our jeep opened up the whole way. My Chinese buddy had to crawl in the back and reach up and close the bugger. It was his first rock show in the US, and he had a great time...Hemingway called Paris "A Moveable Feast.". I wonder what he would have called Philly?? I don't know, but on Fridat night, it was the place to be... through sleet , snow and freezing rain.

In these days of evil presidents...working in York.

The Phillie show was great. It took me 11.5 hours to get there from Boston. The weather was awful, I lost count of how many accidents I past and avoided on my down. With the conditions what they were, a part of me worried that the show might be cancelled, I had never been so happy to hear them playing when I pulled in at 10:30pm. My legs were shaking when I made it inside the Electric Factory. I guess my muscles had atrophied after such a long and stressful drive.

What I saw was great, and the crowd appeared to be having a great time. Though I will admit, I just stayed in the back, clapping. Thankful just be make it there alive and without any dents in my truck, I didn't need to be in the thick of things for that show. (I was at 3 Boston shows, and in NYC for St. Patrick's Day).

The drive to New York was much better on Saturday afternoon, and what an awesome show in NYC as well. Might've been the best of the 5 I saw.

Thanks to the Pogues for a great week. Truly one of the best of my life. Everyone needs to "tour" along with a band some day. It's a spiritual journey. You can learn a lot about yourself while driving 12 hours through the worst driving conditions to see a band you had just seen 3 nights in a row only a few days before.

It's a very nice murder city. How was your trip back to the hotel and ultimately California? Did you make it to the liberty bell?

It's nice to walk through murder city!

My departure time for NYC was 7:00 A.M., but I saw the Liberty Bell... building...on my way out.
My major accomplishment was taking the R to the E to Queens and JFK as I am directionally challenged.
