You know what, I'll have to find out if my mates uncles were in America recently, cos if he was, theres a very good chance it was one (or possibly both, they're twins, and I wouldn't put it past them to swap) and when I saw The Pogues they ran off to start a fight half way through before running back having nearly got killed by a huge guy.

It truly was a great gig - all of the band were on form and it was well worth the trip over. I reckon Shane will be using an armchair in gigs to come - the 'seat' really suited him.

Interesting views on the 'mosh pit' though - I'm used to it being a lot rougher in Birmingham/Nottingham/London etc. But oddly, it did have a few loons! I helped sort the mad Santa one out - stopped him fighting and 'had a word in his ear' (I was the big bloke bear-hugging him). Then there was the drunk petit Polish girl pogoing for her life with a death grip on her gin & tonic! (Later retired sick). It all goes in the pot though for making it eventful.

Fair play to the bar staff - did a good job; and what a great venue (even though we were kicked-out rather sharpish).

Most importantly, fair play and thanks to the band.

(What was all that snow about??)

Thanks for the photos, Matt 50. I wasn't able to see any of this year's shows, but I saw them last March. Your pix were great!!

Yeah, I remember everyone cheering when the security guy ran through, shouting "Santa's gone! Santa's gone!"

Here's Joey (known on another thread as the cool dude, the roadie, and Shane's other half  )

I was in NY on vacation and only found out the morning of the show that they were in town. I hurried into Manhatten and managed to buy a ticket off a scalper 2 1/2 hours before the doors opened for only $40! I was 3rd in line and was right up front and center for 3/4 of the show (Luck of the irish) but eventually the crowd squeezed me out of my spot.

I took some pics too but I don't have a place to host them. If anyone wants to volunteer?

Who was that band that opened for the Pogues again? I really liked them and wasn't familiar with them. I want to look them up.

Great time except for that guy in the mosh pit who was so drunk he $#!t himself before the show even started and then didn't even leave to clean himself up for fear of losing his spot. I felt bad for the people moshing with him and wondering where the smell was coming from. GAWD!

My buddy back home (Big Pogues fan) was soooo jealous.

If there are no volunteers, they get appointed...
Ok, send your masterpieces to photos at pogues.com
Standing committee will examine them and decide. Maybe they'll settle down in our gallery.

Glad I missed the guy who soiled himself...

The opening band on St. Paddy's day was the Tossers. They have a few albums out and are decent, although my wife hates the guys voice.

I have a handful of pics from the show at: http://sfsu.facebook.com/album.php?aid= ... d=11701808

I'm going to sort through them and see if there are any others worth uploading, my little digital camera didn't fare so well with me being so far from the stage and the low light.
