Boston, March 11 footage

Post Tue Mar 13, 2007 3:07 pm

OK, here are the two videos I took before security read me the riot act. I was worried about posting them, but they are of dubious quality and the band sounds great so I figured I'd go ahead and post them. If there is any reason the band does not want these up, please let me know and I will remove them immediately.

These videos are of "Turkish Song" and "County Hell" and contain a bit of the banter that Shane and Spider shared throughout the evening. The video is grainy, despite being shot from the 6th row, but the band, needless to say, sounds phenomenal, rising above the limitations of my sad little camera.

Here they are:

Enjoy.
Did the old songs taunt or cheer you, and did they still make you cry?

It does all look a bit still, a little tame, maybe it got a bit more lively later?

That's what I was referring to when I said the crowd was kind of embarrasing - and this comes after two insane nights at Avalon...

After hearing about it, and now seeing it, I am glad I went to two Avalon shows. Were they ALL reserved "seating?" Putting someone in a seat does tend to cut down on the dancing.

I don't know. I saw them there last year and everyone was up and at it, so, maybe the lingering effects of the blue laws?

The crowd was a different one by the end of the main set, very into it.

I was too busy watching Terry's fingers fly to jump around. I can jump around in my living room. When I pay $61 to see one of my favorite bands I am going to soak in all of it.

Its easier to dance when theres no seats as your more closely packed and you can just jump around. When your stood there in space with seats between you have to proporly dance as you dont want to jump up and down on the spot like a freak and who on earth wants to proporly dance?

I was sitting in the center balcony. Most in front and in back of me were up and dancing to the right of me ........... a bunch of sitters. To the left of me who the hell knows I was having too much fun.

I was happily dancing in my seat in the first row of the mezzanine. Had I stood up to do so and lost my balance, I'd've landed in the gaping hole of seats below me, no beer filled bodies to break my fall.

Looking forward to dancing my heart out on Saturday night, where the drop to the floor (should it occur) won't be quite so far.

Undoubtedly there was a group of angry people outside and one person at Will Call saying "What do you mean I need the original credit card used to purchase the tickets?! I already paid for them! Gimme the damn tickets! C'mon!"

Oh, those seats belonged to fans to whom the rapture came early when the Pogues took the stage.

I suppose this picture at least goes to prove that the scalpers really do get the "best" seats.

Here are a couple short and shot from the balcony.......no memory left. Guess I should have checked that before the beverages.
