Louise Neville-Stacy got herself a skateboard too. I'm no expert, but to my untutored eye it appears to lack a forward-motion mechanism. "You could use it to skate on the snow", offered Jem, before going off to invent the wheel. We all agreed that the idea of a Willie skateboard was better than any practical function it might have.

I'm no expert either, but I do know this much: it is a skateboard deck. I have one myself, purely for decorative purposes. It is Will's artwork that graces the decks, but whoever made them mistakenly included his little diagram as well (that was just meant to show them where he wanted the drawing placed.)

Even Will has to have a "Spinal Tap Moment"

"Beetown", eh? Hmmm.Well dating back to last year and my mangling of the lyrics to "Thousands" in my signature, this proves my ears may need to go into the shop.
Did the old songs taunt or cheer you, and did they still make you cry?

That's funny, I didn't even notice that flaw. Are you sure it wasn't done on purpose?
Yes, it's just a deck, most "good" decks are sold individually and the customer then buys the wheels they prefer for their new deck.

Man, I haven't been on a skateboard since 1981 or so. The world has it's hands full of problems without my jowly countenance bouncing about on ball-bearings.

See, I told you I was no expert. Whatever next? Consumer choice now conspires against instant consumption. Is this some sort of Pleasure Deferred thing? Is Catholicism still alive in a new and subversive form?

I once read a treatise about why Soccer is so popular in Catholic countries and it essentially revolved around the idea that it is such a low-scoring game. Every goal is joyous because, like sex, it is so hard to achieve. Unless of course, it's Manchester United beating Nottingham Forest away 8-1. "I promised the fans a 9-goal thriller", chortled Forest manager Ron Atkinson, before clearing his desk.

I can attest to the fact that you on a skateboard would be one funny-assed sight.

That's the one! I obviously wasn't looking at the stage (or listening too well) when you said it.

Awesome performances of Thousands, btw - you really belted it out. Great great tune!

Yes. I happen to be Will's kin.

Sweet. As the artist, it probably frustrates him regarding this sorta thing, but as a music collector it makes me want that board even more.

Cut from the "NYC in Video" thread...

Got you some of my other recordings from the March 10, show at Avalon in Boston. And i'll apologize again for the sound as I was right next to the speaker (go ahead and turn your volume down a bit before you even click on these).

Sally Mac, one of my favorite songs and probably the worst sounding of my recordings. Kinda made me sad, but still fun to watch and even better seeing it live. (Good thing most of you don't know me, you can hear me singing along.)

Sunnyside, it's the softer/quieter songs that sound better.

Rainy Night, Pt. 1 and then Rainy Night, Pt 2, Someone needs to show me how to edit pieces like this together...without having to buy some expensive editing program (this is all i'd use it for and I won't be using it too often).

Anyway, hope some of you can enjoy these for what they are, I even made sure to try and get some crowd shots as well. :)

Thank you Philip, Shane, and the lot of yas!!! Oh, and photos will be added later as well.

DJ, bad news, my friend. Bad news indeed. On Sally Mac and Sunnyside you can see my balding dome down in the lower left when you bring that camera far left. I'm behind the young fellow with the buzz cut. The good news is, that you can see the beer boy standing there distributing his wares during Sunnyside.

What file format are the original files in? If it's AVI you can do it pretty easily with VirtualDub (which is free).

Aye, not the scene I was trying to shoot, but between my wife and I on Friday and you guys Saturday I think the beer guy should've just set up camp there by us. ;-) Next year i'll go for your good angle.

They are AVI and as soon as I get home from work tonight i'll be looking to download VirtualDub. Thanks for the info.
