That must have been the incident I was thinking of. Great investigative work!
Did the old songs taunt or cheer you, and did they still make you cry?

Yeah, just browsed through all my posts from that time frame.
Looks like most were thrilled with all the Boston shows except for "Mr. Guest" from the Orpheum show. All I saw was friday and saturday and they both were amazing shows. I also have a few videos I took (which you probably saw me doing). I'll gladly post them if Mr. C says it's ok.
Originally I wanted to try and plan it out so we could divide up the show by songs and Medusans...thus capturing the full show. Obviously not of pro quality, but still a nice little reminder for those of us that were there. ;-)

So you're the one I gave the gum to. :) Hope it helped...I didn't notice anything particularly stinky so I guess it did. Sorry we didn't figure each other out earlier, but glad to know the front was covered by fellow forum folks. Had a great time, hope you enjoyed the Orpheum show more than that "Guest" did in the Orpheum thread. Who freakin' leaves a Pogues show three songs in? Ridiculous!

And thanks muchly for the gum - it cured my 'asshole breath' right off...great show and sorry to hear about your troubles at the other show. I often got kicked out of clubs for starting fights back in my drinking days - in my case, the clubs were invariably right in tossing me.

You are very welcome for the gum.
I've worked at clubs since I was 18 (back in the 80s) and 99.9% of the time i'll side with the club in incidents like this, as with your previous encounters, it typically was alcohol to blame. Unfortunately in my case it was the other side...still think it was mistaken identity or something like that, no idea why I was being beaten on. Anyway, past is past. ;-)

Sean, thanks for the great photos! I was very pleased to see a few of WEW, for whom I have a particular fondness. 8)

Same here...hopefully i'll have a few of my own to post very soon from the March 10th show.
Sidenote: You know, i've been going to shows for a really long time, and while it never ceases to surprise me, it still irritates the hell out of me when someone screams at the opening act something about wanting the main act... "We Want Shane!" (Thanks, jerky.) Besides that a) If you aren't paying attention to the beautiful stuff that WEW is dishing out ya probably don't deserve to hear it...go to the lounge and b) last time I checked it was The Pogues...this was not a solo MacGowan tour...last time I checked. Sorry for the rant, just got me a little peaved.

While yelling this out during the opening act is indeed rude, it surely is not unexpected.

I like the fans who lavish adoration on the man, it's well deserved and quite funny.

No yelling Shane-O? What are you smoking?

Like I said, I wasn't surprised. AND I NEVER said no yelling Shane-O, though i'd prefer it happen while the Pogues are on stage (or maybe between bands). And what i'm smoking is between me, my wife, my dealer and the customs/TSA agents I bribed. ;-)

But you said you were surprised.

You'd obviously prefer Pogues-O.

I'd prefer that you just shut up about all of it...but such is life!

Frances, I do not know how many medusians would prefer your comments never appear. But actually it doesn't matter. I'd prefer to please only one of them than to have you around. So watch yourself.

Sorry bout that Frances, meant to say it "never surprises me," must've been thinking of something else as I typed that up. Thus the "but it always irritates me." And since my discussion is irritating you why not give us a better topic of discussion, oh mighty thread starter. Seems like if a simple little thread like this irritates you maybe you need not stay in this forum.

The word "retarded" is really hilarious in the context of the message. :)
(Yes, I felt the need to add a retarded smiley to my post. My humble apologies!)
