even if the ticket was free the overall cost would be over three hundred
and i know some people fly to see them..
but im only 19, and i have two rents, and tuition to pay
The girl cried out a few times and the old man slept with his mouth wide open and his bad teeth showing.

When I was 18, I travelled from Dublin to London to see David Bowie (the Station to Station tour) at Wembley Arena, the Sex Pistols at the 100 Club, Graham Parker and the Rumour at Brunel University, Nils Lofgren at the Apollo Victoria and the original production of The Rocky Horror Show at the Essoldo, King's Road. I had to farm a half-acre of tomato plants for a few weeks, which served a dual purpose of raising the funds and providing all the proof I needed that I was not cut out to be a Son Of The Soil.

When I was 18....

Don't forget the part about living in a small box and having to walk the whole way with no shoes. That's usually the clincher. Can't beat that. :)
What kind of fuckery is this?

An Easy solution to that is if you dont like the set list then dont fucking go to the gig.

Ofcourse! a good way to keep their fans

and in the snow. Walking the whole way in the snow with no shoes, uphill both ways.

When I was 20 I decided not to make the trip from Buffalo to NYC to see the Strummer-led Pogues for the same reasoning. I was supporting myself while in college full time. I have regretted that decision ever since. As the years went on and it seemed the Pogues would never get back together it bothered me more and more. I promised myself that is the Pogues or the Clash ever reunited I would be there. When the Pogues did reunite in 2001 I had more money but was not able to make it for other reasons. I was not able to rectify that until last year. Believe me, as you get older it's likely to be harder, not easier.

This year I have tickets for the Saturday show and thought I was not going to make it, but it turns out that I well might after all! I've convinced a friend try and rearrange his schedule to drive 500 miles or so each way with me to see the show! If all goes as planned, we will drive up Saturday to see the show and drive home on Sunday.

I have the cold of a lifetime and I am preparing to strap on boots and step out into the sunny streets of New York City and see the Pogues with Shane MacGowan for the first time.

You'll get no sympathy here, Benno. Life is short. Don't wait for the money -- there will never be enough.
F yez all.

alright, did any of these "long lost" shows
cost more than 300 dollars?
did you have 400$ rent, food, clothes, 2500$ tuition to pay?

As I said, I was pretty much in this same situation and decided not to go as well. Your choice, but it would be easier as time goes on; it will get harder as you have more responsibility in life.

Yeah, Jesus came back, but he didn't do "The Sermon On

Yeah, but at least he played Billy's Bones, so stop your whining.

Did Shane play with him?

Like Tim Finnegan, Shane fell. Will Jesus or James Joyce heal him with their bottles of porter and whiskey??....The fall (bababadalgharaghtakamminarronnkonnbronntonnerronntuonnthunntrovarrhounawnskawntoohoohoordenenthurnuk!)...
