In True Irish tradition they sent out a drunk 80 yr old with a fag in his hand spilling his magners on the way out to introduce them and he done a good and long slurry job at that! Effing marv.

Larrikin love were without question amazing as always and are only getting better, seen them 3 times and they continue to surprise me with their mad lil irish jigs and quirkyness. Love the gents!

As for the pogues!!! Shane stumbled out off his face on vodka which he repeated throughout the whole thing, He couldnt of done it any better!! I was truly amazed and inspired, think i might become an alchoholic! Even after all these years, the pogues are still going strong and continue to send people crazy! especially me!

Twas a great Craic!!!

I'm not sure, but there seems to have been little said about the show on Tuesday night at Brixton. I was at the show on Sunday night and felt only a little disappointed, although still a decent night. I wondered if the legs may have started to go..........However, I was still up for another night and Tuesday was absolutely cracking.......probably the best i can remember. Thank you!!!
Shane was on the best form that I can recall and the rest of the band were simply brilliant. Thousands....Kitty....Fairytale....bottle of smoke....the list of great numbers went on and on.
There really is not a better night out!!!
There is a stack of life left in the Pogues......Don't ever stop!!!! Happy Christmas!!!!!

Went to the Brixton Academy on Tuesday night. Have been a fan of the group since my teens, and in drunken moments have been known to sing a long annoying the neighbours so was very excited to be going to this gigs........... my verdict, what a terrible performance. £30!! for that. The sound quality was truely crap. I could not understand a thing Shane was singing nor what they said between the performance (even when I stood right by the sound desk). not sure whether it was cheap speakers or bad drunken singing, but sadly expect it was the both of them!

How do they get away with that each year? It would have been better to put a CD on and mime or get a tribute band to step in.

19th Brixton academy

Post Sat Dec 23, 2006 2:26 am

The 19th Brixton academy was a great gig as all of my Pogues gigs so far. (First one I attended I was 13 and was in Portugal). I love the Xmas reunions, shame you won't keep it up. :(

In other forums there's a lot of people bitching about their photographs. Well let me tell you, if you're in the pit, and someone gives you the death stare because they are taking photographs, that ain't funny either. It's a concert goddamnit! If you want to see it through a lense buy a video. Speaking of which, any plans to do Xmas special DVD? That would be excellent!

I hope Santa grants me the wish of catching a drink with you guys sometime! 8)

Keep up the good work!
