Hell of a show! Thanks, gents!

And a great pleasure it was as well to meet Georgecat, DzM, Orrok61 (and his lovely daughters), carmen, deadmanshake, and the other guy from NY (whose nom de medusa appears to have been wiped clean from my memory by Sierra Nevada Pale Ale).

Back Thursday with two friends! Yee Haw!

Fantastic! Can't wait til tonight and tomorrow night as well, and am happy for you. Nothing like it...

Last time I saw him, he was running out into the stage door alleyway, strongarmed by Mr Cashman and Mr Duncan.

Let's keep this simple:

Well, if you haven't arranged this several weeks in advance with us, the simple answer is you can't, unless you catch us arriving at or leaving the theatre. Unfortunately, this is especially true of the Wiltern, where backstage security is extremely strict.

Well maybe I'll bump into you in Texas after the tour, if you're still headed that way. It's a small state...

What an amazing experience! It wasn't just thanks to the Pogues, but all the other fans that were there, having an equally good time. I'm just sad I've got all this school stuff to do otherwise I'd be going back tonight. It was definitely a concert that I'll never forget.

Staying next door in Korean Town, I decided to get hammered on wine and Sake. After "White City" I had to go upstairs and take a rest as I was stumbbling around badly while dancing. I do not remember much of the show other but I recall that the band was fucking on fire and probably the btest gig of the tour. I was able to manage to get back downstairs for the last two encores even though i had to through my arms around people to stand. Will defintaley go easy on the poison tonight.

I thought I'd reply again, because I was just wondering if anyone can remember the setlist for the 18th? I can remember the last few, and I know they started with Streams of Whiskey, but the rest is a blur.

Last night! The Pogues! Amazing!

They must have performed for nearly two hours. I don't know where those old folks get their energy! James Fearnley, in particular, was just filled with life.

Shane's singing was, even after all these years of abuse, wild and brilliant. He entered the stage with a bit of guidance and a lit cigarette, which he continued to smoke as he sang. And then proceeded to consistently light up more throughout the show. He amused himself with the microphone stands and microphones a great deal--much to the chagrin of the sound techs, I'm sure. Then, occasionally, he'd wander off, another member would sing one of their songs, and he'd wander back with a new bottle of . . . well, something strong, I'm sure.

His between-songs banter was, probably needless to say, almost completely unintelligible. Well, except for this one--Shane: "Anyone here American?" [Audience responds in the affirmative.] Shane: "Fuck you!" :P There were more "fucks" sprinkled here and there amongst his mumblings, along with an obligatory "Shut the fuck up!" Oh. And something about "drunk" at one point.

James running about and sliding on his knees (Who says accordion players aren't cool?!).

Spider playing percussion by means of a beer tray and his own his head.

They sang so many of their best. "Bottle of Smoke," "Streams of Whiskey," "Sally MacLennane," "The Old Main Drag," "If I Should Fall from Grace with God," "Thousands Are Sailing," "Turkish Song of the Damned," "A Pair of Brown Eyes," "The Sickbed of Cuchulainn." Wonderful encores, including a lovely version of "Fairytale of New York," complete with a large amount of falling snow and Shane shuffling the poor young-girl singer through it in an unsteady, rotating dance. And then the final, rousing "Fiesta."

I hated to see it come to an end. But alas, it did. The lads will do it all again tonight and tomorrow. I'm almost tempted to go back and see them once more, but I'll be returning to that same venue on Saturday night to see the Decemberists. I think it will take me at least that long to recover from last night's show!
