Just brilliant. I also flew in from the States for the Brixton Dec. 22nd show, and would have circled the world many times for that experience.
I saw the full line-up half my life ago; was my first concert, and has been the best one, but only until Dec 22nd. In between, I diverged into literally any musical style, but nothing even comes close to the emotional, fulfilling intensity, this Peace and Love feeling of transmitted happiness I was somehow lacking since the first show 15 years ago...
Would I have expected to ever be crying out of happiness while whipping amongst thousands of sweaty booties? Would I have thought I can scream my lungs out while producing a lump in my throat? Thousands are Sailing and Fairytale did it...not to speak of each single other song of that most brilliant set. I am now overcome by that strange feeling of "missing these two hours", as a time where I was living a level or two further up by all accounts, elated with a smile, and that feeling seemed to have streamed throughout each single soul in the venue.
I sensed that all of the boys from the county hell and Cait, the star of the county New York felt that connection too and will hopefully share it with us in the future......
A last cheesy bit:
The Pogues made me travel to Ireland and meet my wife there - times of my life.
Thank you, Pogues, for all that and our wedding song.... You hold a large share in our lives.
May Shane shine forever! From a rainy night in ..let's just call it New Soho...
And see you all next year!
