Photos of The Pogues, March 16 2006

Post Wed Jun 28, 2006 11:13 pm

Considerably less exciting than the other announcements ...

After three months in the public eye the March 16 photos have been culled, the survivors cropped and color corrected. I re-unveil March 16, 2006! w00t!

But now I'm all out. No more galleries of opening acts; no more galleries of The Pogues. I'm spent.

Oh October, why must you linger so far away?

Even longer until Pogues O'Clock down here, remember... mind you, come October I'll be somewhere between Sligo, Donegal, Cork and Dublin, having seen Christy Moore twice in Galway, for good measure. So I'm not really complaining, really Br'er Janitor. And when the Magic Pogues Hour DOES strike down here in the Muddy Old Lounge of Oz, it'll still be 24 hours ahead of you crazy TopWorlders. So yay us. :P
I'm sure that October is scurrying up behind you even faster than you think, compadre...

These were shot with a Nikon D1X and a f2.5 Nikkor lens, ~50mm-~120mm.

The lens was frustraitingly slow for this kind of shooting though. The telephoto was the right amount, but the aperature restriction forced most shots to be ~1/20s and led to far more "artistic" photos than I'd have liked. I have serious lens envy over Chi Chi's lens.

I've downloaded some of her music for my daughter to listen to in the car (and to jump around to in her room... cuz she likes to do that, and I get a kick out of it) and some of it really isn't bad. And I don't know if I think that way because she was at a Pogues show in NYC. :?

Lindsey Lohan, what a fucking talent!! Never heard of her before the mention here. Another "Pogues for a day fan" because her agent told her it was the hottest ticket in town. V.I.P. my ass.

Well. I never said she was a huge talent. She is kinda popular with the teens. Not sure if she was a "Pogues fan for a day." Heard she was getting wild a year or so ago and doing a lot of partying. Someone said she threw up at the show. I'll just choose to imagine that she's a smoking hot red haired Irish-American Pogues fan. Don't spoil the vision. :)
