You’re not the only one disappointed with that. Let’s listen to the best informed authority...

From the Paddy Rolling Stone forum, quoting Mr Chevron:

"Much as I love the Barras - much as we all do (Elvis C just did his ONLY European show there) there are forces at play in the setting up of a tour that are not so much beyond our control as beyond our terms of reference as musicians, which is why we entrust our tours to the best people in the business. Promoters have complex working relationships with venues and local promoters, and we have work enough to do without further complicating their lives.

My guess is our promoter did a package deal with the Academy Group for Glasgow, Birmingham and London. That would certainly have excluded a standard clause barring us from playing in rival venues in the same cities for a set time limit."

Maybe next time...

Carling Academy Glasgow 13/12/2004

Post Wed Dec 15, 2004 8:29 pm

I went to the Carling gig on Monday night. I travelled on a coach for 7 hours from the Highlands with my dad and met my brother in hawick, then went to Glasgow to see them. At 14, I think I must have been the youngest there, or at least the youngest GIRL by far! I had an amazing night. Wont forget it, I have been a big fan for ages and it was an amazing experience.

I was interested in who else went, there was a huge mix of people and it was realy interesting to see everyone there.

Hello!
I had a fantastic time too, it was the best gig i have ever seen EVER! I went on my own which was slightly scary when i was queuing up, but once inside i completely forgot. I'm 18 (student at Glasgow Uni).
