How bout the glove?

Post Sun Mar 19, 2006 6:27 pm

Shane picked up a glove a fan threw on stage and wore it for the rest of the show. He said something like"thanks for the glove its mine now". I was getting such a kick out of Shane last night. He was even dancing a bit during White City. Just a tremendous, tremendous show. Never thought I would get a chance to experience the lads live and they sure as hell didn't disappoint.

Great great show again. The performance was ace. Liked when Shane stumbled to the mic before Star of the County Down, only to be gently reminded by Andrew that it's not his turn....what a baffled/embarrassed look Shane can put on, classic! What did Shane's "Shut Up!" refer to? I thought the audience atmosphere was a bit different than the previous NY nights, starting out rather quiet and then ending up in quite the wild pit (had to pick up people twice while Fairytale alone....see below).

Dirty Old Town, 69MB
Sally MacLennane, 53MB
Fairytale in NYC, 104MB

Last round sadly. Have fun tonight, wish I was there again, but hope to do it all again SOME TIME!

Thank you so much, Philip and the band, for the blinding moments. Very very special, and eternally remembered - I've rarely seen so many downright happy faces at once. Was also great to meet some nice boarders (DzM, Aineen, Carmen, Georgecat, Sheva, Josie, Rich and others) -- finally normal folks that understand the urge to see multiple Pogues gigs, far and away :D

yeah, WEW was awesome, I wish he had played more than 3 songs. It is hard to imagine that voice coming out of someone so young looking.

Slackers were okay I thought, and of course the pogues were freakin' fantastic. Thanks for coming all the way across the pond. My girlfriend and I got there early and leaned on the railing behind where the camera was, so the sound was great.

Wish we'd seen some celebs (other than the pogues members). oh well. Had an awesome night. Will be thinking about this concert for a long time.

Perhaps with a co-ordinating surgical-type mask.

Was the first Pogues show for both my brother and I - we were right in front, at first a little to the right of Shane (facing the stage) but we eventually got pushed over a bit and I was directly in front. Unbelieveable.

At the end I thought Shane was going to throw his cap into the crowd, but alas, he did not.
