NYC 3/18

Show was great! The whole band was awesome and loved the setlist (played pair of brown eyes, boys from the county hell). my buddies who never saw the pogues before LOVED the concert. I hopefully got some good photos. Thanks to Philip and the rest of the band for making the trip over here after all these years! Definitely worth the price of admission and then some...

ps. nice to met ya DZM and other people from the forum!

pss. i started to get choked up for Fairytale. lol, that never happens at shows! :D

i wish i had jumped on the forum before going to the show - i took a friend tonight who had only heard bits and pieces of a couple of songs... and he's become a fan not only of the Pogues but both openers as well. it would have been neat to meet some forum members.

after 15 years of waiting (I had the misfortune of becoming a Pogues fan at age 16... the very year Shane left the band) it was not a disappointment. I think the only way it could have been a more perfect evening was if they had played in the Wake of the Medusa, which I wasn't even remotely hoping for.

Brilliant show, lads! Please come back, and hit up the midwest if you can, we'd love to have you in Detroit and Chicago.

Hmm....DzM spotted an actor and was going nuts trying to remember his name. Based on the very detailed description our beloved site admin gave me, I believe it was Phoenix.

First off, The Pogues absolutely delivered last night. The band was tight, Shane was excellent - What a Great Show! Everyhting I hoped for and more.

A Question for Phillip: After you spin around like a Whirling Dervish while playing guitar, Have you ever lost your balance?

On the celeb sighting front, I saw Steve Buscemi (ex-NYFD in the house!) and young Irish actor Cillian Murphy (the dude with the spooky eyes from the latest Batman movie).

Is William Elliott Whitmore on the bill tonight? I was really hoping to see him.
