blah blah blah .... Yeah, I wasn't talkin to you, now was I? No wait, I guess I'm talkin to you now..... wait, gee I guess I'm not cool enough, so I'd better just keep my trap shut. (fucker)

Eric...Stop whispering...start shouting..don't hide behind the small print...I am far worse than that word....pretty kind description actually. That's me on a good day. Guess that's why I could never relate to the sappy boys from Liverpool. Imagine there's no Beatles, it's kind of fun to do!!!

I met a guy who is apart of the tour in DC and he told me they are doing some filming for a documentary on Joe Strummer and all those who worked closely with him. But a concert DVd works just as well.

videp clips St Patrick's night

Post Sat Mar 18, 2006 9:05 pm

got some clips, this time (almost) full songs and from the side balcony with good view of stage and crowd. Much better quality than what I posted from 3/16, but still not a master of keeping still....

Streams of Whiskey, 61M
Young Ned of the Hill, 73M
Thoudands are Sailing, 87M (not the whole song- ran out of memory...)

Might have to click 'n iterate a few times till the download works.

And whatever you call the motion in the crowd, it was fun, and for what I sampled very friendly and bumpy! Sad to hear that some few morons seem to destroy it all for some people.... but I am lost of words for the performance and feel to it. Both nights. Just utterly amazing.

Off to #3, woohoo!

St. Paddy's Night

Post Sat Mar 18, 2006 10:05 pm

Great show! I couldn't stop smiling from beginning to end. Band was awesome and Shane's performance exceeded all my expectations. He was great - like someone before said, nothing sad or buffonish here. Every song was dead-on. I almost started believing some of the negative crap I've read about this reunion tour. Don't believe it. Nokia theater was great too. One of the best sound systems I've ever heard and a great layout - you can mosh up front near the stage or you can sit in the movie-theater seats in the back like me and take it all in from there. All-in-all, a fantastic night!

Actually seeing the faces of fellow Medusonians seems to have that effect on people.

Very nice to have met you, by the way.

Same here Dzed. I also had the pleasure of meeting Tar and his lovely wife Stephanie, georgecat, josie, and then took to the front lines with Carmen and Sheva. Lovely, friendly people, all.

Nothing personal Aineen. It's been a rough couple of years for Mr. Towers- getting torn down and all. Now I'm just a north Dublin memory. It could be worse... I could be Josh Towers or Josh Elliot....I walk through walls, and float down The Liffey...Did you ever think of sending a PM to the so called fab four??? They are probably off playing a gig on Muzak in some shopping mall.

Nothing personal ST, but if the opinion of Johnny Lydon and 'playing a gig on Muzak' are your critera for judging musicians, I figure you should know that The Pogues were playing over the Muzak system in Penn Station around 1 AM on Saturday. Might need to scratch them off your list, huh?

Agus fágaimíd siúd mar atá sé.

NYC Muzak doesn't count... everything is beter in The Big Apple, even the serial killers. I hated The Beatles ten years or so before The Sex Pistols even formed. I think for myself. John Lydon just happens to agree with me on this one. I'm sure he's not a Radiohead fan. Sometimes great minds just happen to think alike.

@tar: cheers a bunch! :) Those clips seem to be popular, I'm having a hard time getting Streams of Whiskey, but I'm more stubborn than some server.

Thanks Tar - those are great! I can spot my bobbing red head every now and again... :D

Great to meet you and Stephanie! Give little Whipped Cream a kiss on the head for me when s/he arrives.
