I only wish his full time gig of clearing brush in Texas were starting now. I am sure Steve Earle will have a few choice songs for him this weekend at the concert for withdrawal sponsored by Veterans fo Peace in NYC. Looks like an interesting show with Chcuk D and Michael Stipe preforming.

Yes, Steve had a few choice words when we saw his performance at the anti-war rally in DC in September. Steve is a great American - when I saw that he was performing in NYC on Monday I thought that perhaps there would be a chance of him arriving a day early and showing up at the Nokia. (I believe he's recorded with the Pogues before, no?) I'm still hoping! An extra mandolin onstage couldn't hurt!

Heartening to read Mr Chevron's statements. Glad to be on the same page politically.

As I learned in the discussion on the Atlantic City set list :D , "Irish Rover" is also referred to as "DOG" and I guess "Woof Woof" also applies. Listen to the song, it's in there.

Wish I were going to NY tonight (or tomorrow or Sunday)!

Nokia 3/16 clips

Post Fri Mar 17, 2006 8:25 pm

I got some video clips from last night. Sound and image quality is rather bad, and from the middle of the floor, i.e. a bit shaky. If anything it gives an idea of the atmosphere. Also note that the clips never cover the complete tune....sorry....

A Pair of Brown Eyes, 64MB
Star of the County Down, 42MB
Turkish Song of the Damned, 24MB
A Rainy Night in Soho, 84MB

I have some pictures too, but they really didn't come out nicely. Oh well... :D

FAN-TA-STIC SHOW!!!!!!

Can't wait for tonight, off to catch the train in a minute.

Description duly updated.

Glad you got good front-row seats (so to speak).
