I was present and accounted for at the Atlantic City show, fucking fantastic. The Pogues were in top form, delivering their blistering set with pure brilliance. When they first got on stage in was full speed ahead. Shane came out and appeared to be a little tippsy, but as the show progressed he got a lot better, even doing a little twist and shout number at the end of Sayonara, or whipping the hell out of the mic stand during the climax of the Irish Rover. James Fearnley appeared to having a wonderful time, leaping around the stage and playing his accordion with pure fire and energy. In fact, the entire band was in fine form, playing most of their well known songs from their back catologue. Overall, probably one of the best shows I have ever had the experience to see, and I've even seen The Sex Pistols live. Hey, you Boston and New York fans, you guys are in for a treat.

P.S. Mr. Chevron I know you visit this forum I just want to thank you and the rest of band for giving me one of the best nights of my life. Also, Thousands Are Sailing was brilliant live.

Thanks,
Iain

I was at the show, and The Irish Rover was in there, I think at the end of the first encore (instead of DOG). Awesome show!

Naw, man not "instead of DOG." As EricV clarifies above, "Irish Rover" = "DOG." Call it shorthand or sump'n' like 'at...

sadly, I'm back in VA but even a 24 hour visit to AC was lovely. every time I turned around I saw someone else I knew and used to see almost every night at the pub. Atlantic City is definitely not the same, but I did not care at all last night. all in all I think I ran into at least 50 people from the good ol' McGuire's/Greater Pittsburgh crowd.

another great night, and I wish I could go to more shows, but I'm afraid my poor body is forcing me to succumb to this flu-like bug I've had since wednesday.

we ended up at the Irish Pub for some grub after the show and it was good to reminisce with my old friends.

I took a ton of photos, but alas, I'm only a mere 5'2 and I don't use a flash. some turned out ok, but I do get a bit artsy with the photos on occasion.

if you're so inclined:

now I think I'll sleep for a few days. (if only I could actually do such a thing)
no matter, it was all completely brilliant.

cheers,
lauree

Wow... it couldn't have been said better. AC definately made a much better location than the 9:30!

Had I only known, you could have sat on my shoulders for pictures! Great shots! I could not believe how easy it would have been to Video that show. I probably could have done it with my camera if I borrowed an extra card from a friend!

Thanks for posting those pictures. Much better than anything I was able to snap with my phone.
What an unbelievable show. The band was right on and Shane was as brilliant as you could ask for. Sutter Home wine though? And White Zin to boot?
The snow falling during Fairytale turned a magical song into a magical moment that I was hoping would never end.
There are definitely much better venues than the Borgatta. It was like a carpeted movie theatre with bad acoustics and while it didn't add anything to the show it also didn't take anything away.
Wish I was going to NYC. Thursday is the only night I could go, so I guess there's still time.
I love to drink and I love to sing, but most people just like to hear me drink.

thanks all for the comments.

I'm afraid I've really had this flu hit me hard now. and what a week to do so. no pints for me this week, sadly.

I'm still loving the fact I was back hanging out in Atlantic City with my old friends, although it's pretty depressing that we no longer have our place to call home. the old pub was wonderful. I could walk in and by the time I reached the other side of the bar to my regular seat, a bottle or a pint would be waiting. sigh.

I'm anxious to see what they do with all the video footage that is being shot at each show!
