2006/03/10 (DC) setlist

Post Sat Mar 11, 2006 6:28 am

Hello. Just got back from the second night. The following is the printed setlist, which is the same as what was played last night.

Streams of Whiskey / If I Should Fall From Grace With God / The Broad Majestic Shannon / Turkish Song of the Damned / Young Ned of the Hill / A Pair of Brown Eyes / Rain Street / White City / Tuesday Morning / The Old Main Drag / Sayonara / Repeal of the Licensing Laws / The Sunnyside of the Street / Body of an American / Lullaby of London / Thousands Are Sailing / Dirty Old Town / Bottle of Smoke / The Sickbed of Cuchulainn
Encore 1: Sally MacLennane / Rainy Night in Soho / The Irish Rover
Encore 2: Star of the County Down / Fairytale of New York / Fiesta

Thanks to everybody in the band! I had a great time both nights.

Oh, and it'll take a little time - I'm really busy right now - but I'll post some photos I took eventually. I got a few really good photos and hope you enjoy them!

Fabulous show tonight as well! I thought it was even a little bit better than last night. Seemed to be an older and slightly more subdued crowd than Thursday, but everyone was having a good time. There were 50 and 60-year-old grannies and grampas pogoing up and down in the balcony!
Glad you could stop by for your first two nights in the USA! DC enjoyed havin' ya!!

About an hour ago I got back home from The Pogues 2nd show in Washington, DC. I can say that I was fortunate enough to see both last night and tonight's shows, but then again, I wouldn't have missed them for the world.

In sum, to the Pogues...thank you!!! Thank you for bringing so much happiness to your fans' lives the past 20+ years! Thank you for coming to the States for this tour and thank you for spending the past two nights with your fans in Washington, DC!!!

For those of you planning on seeing the remaining shows in Atlantic City, New York, and Boston, you're in for a real treat!!! Enjoy!

Cheers!!!

Scan of the onbstage setlist courtesy of Mr. Hunt

OK, here it is, an scan of last night's OFFICIAL setlist, from it's place taped on the stage, to the hand of one Mr. Hunt, who dedicated this fine performance to Eartha Kitt, to my hand, to my car, to my scanner and now (HOPEFULLY) to you.

My decrepid olde MAC will not allow me to FTP this to a server so I am putting it in a Yahoo photo album (YAHOO!!!) hoping you all can see it. If not, then please reply here and I will post it from work on Monday.

Anyone else's ears ringing this morning? Like the stupid &^%$ I am, I stood right by the speakers on the right side of the stage.

Anyhoo, please see if you can access this image and let me know.

ps Met Jenni the toungue pierced Goddess before the show and we had some fun. And it only cost me a ticket!!!!!

Yeah dude, pic/link/thingy works fine......

BTW, wouldn't Jenni have been too young to have worked in the Nixon admin as a secret source for Woodward and Bernstein?

By the way, here's a funny anecdote from the Friday show. While waiting for the gang to hit the stage, I talked to another photographer. He said he worked as a DJ at the old 9:30 Club when the band played there back around '89. The guy swore that at the end of the night, the band was presented with a $1500 bar tab. I think he also said that despite planning ahead, the club also sold out of most of their beer and liquor. Must've been one hell of a show.
