So, due to having to work today i managed to miss the meet-up @ the Cantebury Arms. Bollocks! Sorry (not least to myself who would've liked to have met some of you guys).
Anyways, highlights from tonights show:
think it was about 2 or 3 songs in , either i was more pissed than i thought or Shane missed his timing for 2nd verse of 'Turkish song...'. That said the band formed around it and rode it out musically. Am sure something was going on as Spider shrugged as if to say "F**k it - we can do this!!"(maybe Phillip has a take on this? Philip , was there a glitch here?) - band appeared to rescue it heroically .
'Sayonara' & 'Rain street' both brilliant ' Sick bed of....'rousing , 'Broad majestic...' was, well....majestic.
'Tuesday morning' sung of course by Spider never disappoints & 'Thousands are sailing' sung by Phillip never fails to put a lump in the throat. For me tho' one of the absolute crowning moments tho' was 'The Old Main Drag' - Poguetry in motion or what?
Oh, and Spider got the tin tray out for the encore ('Irish Rover' maybe?).
Great show, loved it and i have to say Shane appeared to be in better form than he was this time last year, am convinced by tonights performance he'll out-live all of the fu*kers who seem intent on writing his obituary every 5 minutes.
Nice one guys, thanks v. much for a great night.

There's often a glitch. There's often a heroic rescue. 's Rock n Roll, innit?

watching the 'Fairytale... ' documentary was pretty interesting in that there was reference to such stuff as in it can take a few goes to get everyone on the same page. That said , yeah it is rock n roll. Rock on.......
