Went last night. Walked past the stage door as Shane arrived-great timing!!

As for the gig, I thought things were a bit ramshackle for the first half dozen songs. After that, things tightened up and by the end the entire place was going off. It seemed to me to be a case of the crowd lifting the band, rather than the other way round. It seemed that the whole audience was desperate for the guys to put on a terrific show.
And poor old Ella couldn't manage to keep Shane upright as they danced during FONY, but everyone was laughing their heads off as they struggled to their feet!

Going again tonight-hopefully it will be even better!

Going tonight, will be the first time I've seen the boys live. My partner has got her work do so can't come, 'so on me own', but by reading all the postings I wont be drinking alone. I'm 44 so should be all grown up and sensible (that'll never happen) but I'm like a big kid waiting to go to a party, can't wait. Hoping to get to the Canterbury Arms beforehand after hosing a few down in the city before heading for Brixton. Is it a nightmare getting drinks at the academy.

We had another brilliant night yesterday. Had seats on the balcony to recover a bit from the night before in the pit
The played the same set again, but it seemed like they swaped it around a bit.
They had a proper brass section for Rainy Night. It really sounded brilliant!!
Poor oul Ella had a nasty fall when Shane brought here down. But she just laughed it off, poor thing. Also had to laugh at Jem keepin his eyes on Shanes hands.lol Guess he knows Shane to well.
Was nice to meet Christine, Susanne + Hubby, Sheva, Miss Walshy and Peter from Brighton + wife. Topman Pete! If you read this, Peter, drop me a line  Also nice to meet Mr Brian Kelly.

Alex- I really had a great time here in London! Thanks a lot to me mate Dave and his lovely family.

I should point out that neither Ms Finer nor Mr MacGowan are in the habit of falling over onstage, despite what you may have read in the drunken newspapers. The fake snow is on a product recall and mothers are warned NOT to feed it to their babies until they receive the all clear.

Hi everyone

Despite being a big Pogues fan for many years, I've only recently discovered this board. It's great reading all the messages, especially Philip's insights!

Thoroughly enjoyed Brixton on Tuesday. Thought the band were very tight and Shane in good form though appeared to lose the tempo a couple of times, but the band masterfully carried him through.

I too was wandering what happened with SickBed so thanks for the explanation above. Seemed to be one or two other problems with mics during the evening.

Fairytale was great....Jem's smile when Ella came on stage was as wide as the Shannon...and the audience amazingly quiet at the start.

Fantastic audience participation as usual. Shane was drowned out by the audience for Dirty Old Town!

All the audience and band seemed to have a great time.

More please in 2006!

I'm only just sobering upfrom Wednesday night!

Fantastic night as you would expect from the worlds greatest live band. I loved the inclusion of Sunnyside... and Sayonara. Although I did miss Brown Eyes and Medley :( .

Philip, I have to say that Thousands are Sailing has taken on a whole new lease of life since you took over the singing duties of your song. I know you have been doing it for years now but it is always one of the highlights of the show.

Wednesday night at Brixton - fantastic!!! Had a superb night. The whole band on top form, audience wild and friendly as always, and I'm in love with Ella Finer (last year I fell in love with Cait - OK, I'm fickle!!)

And Philip, you looked sharp!!! 8)

Well am back again from the last night in Brixton.
Once again the band was on top forum.Played the smae songs as the last two nights, but i think it was in the same order as lastnight.
Think the band was dressed the same again, but i do love what Spider was wearing these last two shows.
I cant really remember, but i dont think there was anything that stands out in between songs worth telling about.Shane walked with a pint of whatever on his head for Lullaby Of London. There was no fallin over this time aswel, think Ella made sure they danced slow.My god Jem is so proud.
Darryl played sittin on the eage of the stage for one song.forget.And Mr C 3rd time in a row had a cig on the right hands side watchin them play OMD.

Anyways thats it,my head is ringin and i cant really think right now.
Plus whoever pays for the microphones should bill Shane.
Thanks Phil

Goodnight.
