it was excellent mate, shane was absolutely wrekd, but thats hardly surprising. he was out of time on a few songs, lucky the rest of them are good enough to backtrack to ccommodate him

this is an attempt at a setlist here, forgive me if i miss any out, which is more than probable :)

(in no particular order)

streams of whiskey
if i should fall from grace with god
bottle of smoke
body of an american
repeal of the licencing laws
tuesday morning
bottle of smoke
thousands are sailing
young ned of the hill
sick bed of cuchulainn
a pair of brown eyes
rain street
sunnyside of the street
the irish rover
turkish song of the damned
lullaby of london
the broad majesic shannon
dirty old town

and the encore, as far as i remeber was

sayonara
star of the county down (with darryl hunt on drums, andy ranken singing)
fairytale of new york
sally maclennane
fiesta

they're not in order, apart form the difference between the encore, and the set, unfortunately.

i had a look thru my pogues collection, and worte down all the songs, that i saw had been played

hope this helps

yeah mate, they went down brilliant, i thought they were excellent live, as good a live band iv seen. the crowd were lovin it, there were lots of students there, i think lots of people were there to see the dropkicks rather than the pogues

Thanks for the set list. Sounds great. How good will it be to listen to Repeal of the Licensing Laws now that its come true.

I will be sure to have a good sup of my beer when they play it, if I have one at that point (not going to miss a load of songs by queueing for a beer all night)

And then we get to hear Fairytale at Christmas time. Bloody brilliant.

Sorry to be a pain and deluge you with questions, but what time roughly did the dropkicks start?
I'm going tomorrow, knowing could be the difference between one more pint or not :)

Ella Finer was superb singing FoNY with Shane. She is a beautiful young lady with a brilliant enchanting voice. Her father was so so proud of her and so he should be.Wonder if sister Kitty is as good?
Respect also to Phillip Chevron who read out a list of the guys from this site who were there.Couldnt here them all as someone was shouting out what about a new album at the time but i did hear Sheva being mentioned.
Its twenty years ago today since i first seen the Pogues at the QM Union and the Barrowlands the following night and make no mistake the fire is still there.
Give us a new album lads.

Dublin Concert

Post Wed Dec 14, 2005 2:34 am

I love all this concert feed back and some photos from Cardiff. I am flying in from Cleveland Ohio to share the Pogue experience with my 15 year old son. If he can't experience the Guinness, by god...give him the Pogues.
