DZM:can we have separate threads for each show? this way easier to navigate thru each for info on hotels, trains and pubs and food stuffs ok.

Feel free to create whatever threads you feel are needed. With what you're suggesting I might recommend a thread for each city rather than a thread for each show, but that's just me.

Hello everybody ! Four friends and I will fly from Italy to Glasgow for the tuesday gig. I was at the Glasgow gig last year as well and I must say that was the best Pogues/Shane & Popes gig I've ever seen. The crowd was great and there was a fantastic atmosphere.
I guess this year will be good fun again. I'm sorry to hear Cait won't be there. Anyway the Dropkick Murphys as special guest will make us crazy !...

I hope to meet some of you going to the gig on the 13th...
What's the best pub to go before the Glasgow gig ? I heard Brazen Head is a great Irish Pub very close to Carling Academy...
Will anybody join us there ?...

Stefano,

I would agree that the Brazen Head is your best bet to go to for the two hours before the gig. It is just round the corner from the Carling Academy and you can walk to it in under 5 minutes from the Cartling Academy. It is an Irish - Italian pub but to be honest it is 95% irish and 5% Italian. It is a shrine to Glasgow Celltic and is always populated with Celtic supporters wanting to sing and hear Irish Rebel songs. It is the place to go.

Are you joining us at Brazen Head before the gig ?...

Hi Stefano,

I will be in there but probably not til about 7pm. I stay about 25 miles outside of Glasgow and am organising a minibus of people to go through. There is around 16 of my friends / family going to the gig therefore I will have to wait until then. If you are still in the Brazen Head around 7pm I will definitely be there.

The same thing happened last year and there was plaenty of Pogues fans in from all over the world in there.

It broke. As far as I know nobody outside of Juergen, Ingrid, and their system administrator has any additional information.

last year i slept at euro hostel. it's one of the closest place to brazen head/carling academy. it's definetly not a luxury place...anyway it's a quite cheap and decently clean hostel. http://www.euro-hostels.co.uk
this time we'll stay at McLays guest house. it's cheap as well but it sounds a bit more confortable than a hostel. it's a bit more far from the carling...anyway it's in the city centre. http://www.mclays.com
take care, ste

Hey all - I'm getting very excited about the shows, just a month away!

I've been hearing great things about the Scotia Bar from friends in Glasgow - how would that work as a meet-up place for before or after?

Sheva, where is the Scotia Bar? Would hate to miss seeing you. Is it within walking distance to the Brazen Head?
