Hi,

I'm just coming from the concert in Munich. It was so awesome, great and excellent! Thank you very much for this evening - I'll never forget - I promise.

My wife and I were in the second row in the Zenith-hall and there was such a powerful mood! I really love you.

My hint: You must be in one of these concerts, if you have time!!!

Wish you all the best of luck - see you again

Amazing performance by Shane!
He looked like Death's little uglier brother but he sang in tune and very clearly.
In fact he sang much better than the last time I saw him, which was in 1990!!!
It was much better than I expected and a glorious concert in deed.
My highlights were "Sick bed of cuchulain" and " Poor Paddy" and Phillip Chevron singing his "Thousands were sailing".

Keep on rocking Shane!!

Hi guys,
It's so amazing to hear this crazy band live - today in Munich. They started at 8.45pm and Shane was so drunk - wow!!!! I was in the front of the crowd and I couldn't understand what he wanted to say. Only one sentence at the beginning: "Ich bin ein Berliner!" ?!?!?!? After every song he left the stage and came back with a fresh glass of "water" and a cigarette. One glass after the other. And sometimes he sat down next to the drums and enjoyed the sounds of the other members.

Thank you very much for the marverlous evening - it's worth beeing there - unbeleavable!!!

Take care of yourself, Shane!!!!!!

Absolute fantastic show, yesterday in Munich. Shane seemed (in my eyes) not so drunk like some write this here. He was in good shape. We saw darker times in the mid 90s, i guess.
Singing was brilliant, I was in 2nd row on the left side just in fron of Mr. C and make a 25 min videoclip in slowmotion!!! I can bite me in my arse now...as we in germany say ;)
But other clips are ok, i will put here youtibe links, step by step.

P.S.
Wenn hier einer schreibt, der nen Strohhut dabei hatte, kann der sich gerne mal melden ;)

Rather sobering drinkers

The 'Pogues': friendly men with wet past

Munich - Shane MacGowan is in the dark sunglasses in front of the eyes, cigarette between his fingers. Throughout the concert in the Zenith it will not even touch a spotlight. Only when he leaves the stage hunched shuffling step to Spider Stacy and Philip Chevron to leave the microphone, you can see just who is singing. The rest is dusk, directed by Shane MacGowan, the voice and the mascot of the Pogues, as a journey through three decades of band history.
Naturally fits into the concept, finally, the Irishman was once the trinkfesteste band of folk-punk era. Of course they are celebrated by people in the hall of heroes as whiskeyumwölkten excess, especially when they sing hits like "Dirty Old Town 'or' The Sunny Side Of The Street '. So the concert for a one Kapitelchen pop music history, one in Munich, not long before seen the evening with the fathers of the movement, who have then released as the opening act for The Clash or Elvis Costello buddies from the Irish folk music from the shackles of the Rustics.

Yet we have this guest appearance of former drunken robbery A somewhat sobering. For the Pogues act on stage now exactly how those funny musicians that they had once been too conservative. The excess is the past, he has written on her face is Shane MacGowan, his voice to be heard, to look at his stance. What remains is friendly, folksy-drying, the text sometimes boorish, socially critical or simply innocent music that can bring a hall like the Zenith to the swaying and indulge.

Unless I'm much mistaken, the band was great [if, ironically, a little past its iconoclastic best], the singer was not drunk, no one shed tears for the famine.
