What a Night
A true memory maker
Went along with my 2 sons and nephew Thanks to Mr C for the Passes it gave us all a thrill to be stage right
We were Singing Dancing and generally in Fine Spirits as were those around whom were having spirits as well and Lots of Five exchanged all around at 3 key Points
Waltzing Matilda you could sense the general hush come over the crowd and it was indeed a treat.

Thousands what great delivery and Fine Form we are so blessed that you are doing this and will continue Mr C for a very long time btw always sharp as a tack with your attire!

Body of an American WOW the 20 somethings and teens In our area (my sons cousins and loads of others) Sang so Loud and Proud>

So my parting words are; as a fan of 25 years has been my pleasure to pass along the passion and yes reverence for you PoguesWhen you came along they broke the mold and you all smashed it to bits and Created a Place in Music History that truly is Lofty and Unparalleled.

If do do not come collectively across the ocean and do it again simply Thanks for the RIde and I will wish you all good health!
Best Regards,
Mike Shields

I was in the back of the Mezzanine and I could not hear much of the accordion. It made them sound more like the Dubliners than the Pogues. I saw James was having issues a couple times that night. Was it just where I was, or was the accordion pretty low all night?

Good show . I just sounded different without the accordion sound.

DZM - thanks for posting my "If I Should Fall..." video. I was actually mi-way through a PM asking how to embed vids here when I got frustrated and said "screw it." Thanks for handling it - it's like you're psychic or something.

What was the song they sang both shows before their actual opening song? Someone said the Clash but didn't know what song. Just curious :)

It was "Straight to Hell", by The Clash, off the "Combat Rock" album. The Pogues have been playing it before their show in memory, of the late Joe Strummer.

Late as always, I am, in posting comments…

The band was, in a word, superb. Maybe the tightest I've heard in the years since I've been lucky enough to see them, and playing seemingly from one huge collective heart. I'm hard pressed to pull out favorite tunes form the evening's repertoire, for I was happy to hear them all.

I danced, I smiled, I drank guinness, I sang along, I laughed, I wept…

But I also tasted the bittersweetness of the evening, hoping it really wasn't going to be the last time I'd ever see the band perform…

Huge thanks to Philip for the passes, and I certainly wasn't expecting two…I ended up connecting with an old friend whom I hadn't seen in 2 decades, and he in turn hadn't seen you guys play in an equal amount of time.

Thank you, thank you, thank you to all the Pogues for many special musical memories, I hope there are more yet to come.
