On my four or five trips to Manchester over the last few years I had always been very impressed by the punctuality. I am used otherwise: Over here in Germany it is pretty common to have to wait over an hour after the support act. Thus 50 minutes would have been nothing to irritate me. We do not have a curfew though.

The only time in the reunion shows i've been to (which is at least one a year) that i can recall a delay of any sort was the Brixton 'beer in the mixing deck' issue a few years ago. I think it was 10 at least when the band came on that night.

Of course Shane and the Popes gigs are a different matter....

That was actually more scary in retrospect when we found out how close the gig was to being cancelled.

What an eejit that was. What a waste of beer. Mind you, I don't think it's the most intelligent place to put a mixing desk.
Likes the warm feeling but is tired of all the dehydration.

I noticed in Glasgow on Monday night the desk was covered by atent and lots of plastic sheeting!

Latest forecast doesn't look too bad for tomorrow evening. We are travelling over from Oldham, but I'm going to take the Motorway just in case - would hate to get stuck over Woodhead or the Snake Pass!

We left the Newcastle gig before the band came on. Some of us had a good distance to travel home and anyway band just has no respect for the true fans who actually made them what they are today. They're nowt but a set of overpaid divas.

They were what? Fifty minutes late? Is that really such a big deal?

What information do you have that says whether they are overpaid or not

Good call. Sounds like you missed a good show.....The trouble with righteous indignation is that it can tend to make you feel (eventually) like a bit of a dick.

Your anger is justified but I think misplaced. Can there be any doubt who/what caused the delay? I'm sure the band is just as frustrated as you are. What must frustrate them even more than you is knowing that after 25+ years there's nothing they can do/say that's going to make him change. Shane is Shane, and it can stink sometimes. On the other hand it does bring it perspective why a new album will probably never happen.
