Brixton 19th Dec, 2009

Excellent show last night. Everyone on top form. Probably the best rendition of Thousands I've ever heard (and I'm a veteran of some twenty odd gigs).

Seasonal felicitations to all.

Fantastic gig, great to see Thousands back on the stage.

It was the first Pogues concert I've been to and it was brilliant. I came over from Germany with my mother and a friend (who didn't know the Pogues before). The whole evening was just magic. Brilliant atmosphere, band and Shane on top of their game. I stood right in front of the stage but my mother had to be pulled out by the security guys after four or five songs, because she is so small (1,56 meters) and was really scared when everybody started going wild. She then stood left from the stage, outside of the mad crowd. Thanks to the Pogues for this fantastic event! The only thing that bothers me is that I've got an acoustic trauma in my left ear since the gig. But it might also have been the cold weather in London (we stayed there from 18th to 21st December) and I didn't wear a cap to protect my ears from the cold wind. Anyway, I've already got infusions and tomorrow the doctor is going to check my ear again. I don't remember the concert as being that loud, so it might have been a combination of the cold weather, the gig and whatever...

I hope I can afford seeing the Pogues again this year (hopefully again in December). Thanks for the great show!

Ver very late post from me.

Despite the weather me and quare one made Brixton on time. Caught the back end of The King Blues who sounded good. Pogues were brilliant, sound was cracking and Shane was on form with the band sounding tight. Hopefully more shows to come in 2010.

Thanks boys :)

After 7 years, 6 pints and the slow realisation that at his age beggars cant be choosers, my boyfriend asked me to marry him.
After 7 years, 5 pints and a quick realisation that I need a roof over my head, I grabbed the £4 Asda ring from him before he could change his mind.

The reason I'm telling you this is that he asked me during Fairytale of New York at Brixton on the 19th December and it couldnt have been more perfect. So thank you, and we look forward to seeing you again next Christmas...xxx

Gotta love him! The good news is we're off to Brighton at the end of this month to get a proper ring which is a good job as the "diamonds" seem to have started falling out of the Asda one!
