The best Pogues show I've seen for a long, long tine. Cracking crowd, the whole band on top form. I particularly enjoyed what I think of as Phil's Cab Calloway routine during Metropolis. Glorious.

What a fantastic day that was.

The meet up at the Dog and Partridge was one of the best ever, myself, Mark WAFC, Soulfinger, Soulfinger Jr (now 17) and we even managed to find Mctoon!!

The gig itself, I was in my usual spot, in front of the barrier on the left. Out of all the gigs I've been to in the last eight years, I had the best view, I could see everyone for a change and no band member was hidden behind a speaker. I was just stood outside the main moshiing area too, but every now and again I would get shoved up against the barrier, fortunately, I've learned to cope with this as I've nearly always been down the front.

The band took the stage and I swear Philip spotted me when he came to the front of the stage and as he looked in my direction he gave a little smile. Sound was great and Shane appeared to be sober. Loved Phil's dancing during Metropolis. Thousands was dedicated to people who had come from Newcastle, Liverpool and Chesterfield (Philip pulled a face like this when he mentioned Liverpool, I think he was expecting a big cheer, but by that stage my voice was going a bit so I only managed a squeek). What else can I say, brilliant, just brilliant, can't wait for Brixton next weekend.

Wow, that was the best I have seen them for many a year. The band on top form and looking like they were enjoying it once more. The crowd enthusiastic and good natured from start to finish.
Just brilliant.
And Fairytale made me cry.
Can't wait for Leeds on Monday.

We traveled up from London for the Sheffield gig, fancied a change from Brixton.

Great show, Shane was in good form, the band were on fire (though they usually are in recent years). Nice enough venue, somewhat smaller than Brixton but with a good atmosphere). One of the people who came with us was seeing the Pogues for the first time, he was suitably impressed with the show.

Oh, and by the way, I'm Spartacus and so is my wife.

I may have failed in many ways as a parent, but the boy hit his tenth Pogues live show last night and his eleventh tonight; when I am called to account - I think I can claim to have done the right thing by his musical education. He wears my 1988 Pogues Revolution t-shirt to gigs. I bet he's the only one with a shirt older than himself. It doesn't fit me any more. I say it shrank in the wash.

Top Gig on Saturday one of the best,My only gripe is for £30 there should be a named support act who people have heard of.I appreciate that the original support act backed out at the last minute but nobody had heard of him anyway and there was nothing wrong with Marseille Figs just the fact people didnt no there material.Phillip could you maybe explain why this is because after postage and booking fees Saturdays gig cost me £35 for the ticket I believe if I would have paid that money for any other band they would have bought out a named support with them.Thanks and good luck with the rest of the tour

I have upset a few people here in the past whilst giving out about ticket prices in Dublin (50 Sterling inc fees) which may put off the "casual fan". I was proved wrong as three amazing nights were had. But i cannot understand your logic here.
30 squids for a gig is fuck all to be honest (a chinese take away and four cans would cost as much )

My main point is though; did you not pay to see The Pogues? Or in your head, did you think "i'll spend 20 on The Pogues and 10 on the support".

For me, i pay to see The Pogues. The support is incidental and is usually a little known band who are breaking through with the help of the Headliners.

For the price of a 30-quid ticket, you get to hear The Pogues play 24 songs. That's £1.25 a song. Given that there are eight members of the band, that's, erm, approximately 15p per band member per song. Cheap at the price, surely?

Ok, I'm ignoring the fiver or so that goes to the legalised scalpers aka ticket agencies, but hey. That would have confused my primitive maths abilities just too far.

So they might aswell not have a support act if we go by your logic,Wouldnt you rather see a band support them who a)You like b)Like but would never go out your way to go and see live or c) Would guarentee to get the crowd going although a Pogues gig doesnt or shouldnt need that.My point is in the past the lads have had Saw Doctors,Dropkick Murphys,The Stranglers,Billy Bragg ,The Holloways as support all of these bands/acts have built a very good career/fan base for themselves and are very established.I still believe that for £30 there should be an established support on as some people like to come and watch the whole show.If we went by your view then dont have a support and charge less!

Great gig, as was Manchester, both great gigs. Except when I spend £21 on a round, and some moron pushed me over. Gutted, what a waste!
