Been to every reunion show in Glasgow since 2001 and that was the best. Shane nailed every single song and the rest of the lads were amazing as ever.

Don't post here often, if at all but last night's Glasgow show was easily one of the best shows I have ever seen in my life! Shane hasn't toned down the drinking (or smoking) but they were all on top form

It was also the first time I haven't been up front in the downstairs standing area. I bought tickets for the balcony booths standing area (as my wife is four months pregnant, and we had my thirteen year old niece with us) and it was quite a sight to watch everyone in the downstairs standing area going mental. Was also good to watch the band in full flow from above. Really got across just how good a group of musicians they are, and just how hard they work on stage.

Standout songs of the night for me were A Pair Of Brown Eyes, Kitty and Rainy Night In Soho. But everything was good. Thousands Are Sailing was as brilliant as ever.........even though Darryl forced a restart :)

I agree.

Seen every Glasgow gig since 1986 and while we will never return to the wonderful Barras gigs of the late eighties / early nineties last night was the best of the Academy gigs. If only a return to the Gallowgate was on it would be heaven.

The band showed what fantastic musicians they are and Shane was immense. Not a missed lyric all night.

Particular highlights for me were Old Main Drag, Whale, Sick Bed, Thousands (great to see you back Mr. C) and nice to keep us on our toes with the false start  , Fairytale and of course Fiesta - always a wild, bouncing finale.

Gig of the year and can't wait for next year.

I really fancy catching a Brixton gig also - maybe travel down next year.

Seen every Glasgow gig since 1987 myself, bart1888, and felt that last night's show was as close to those brilliant Barrowlands shows as we could get.

On a negative point, did you notice someone chucking a nearly full pint at the stage? And a f**cking glowstick? Why do these folk do that?

Pint throwing are part of a Pogues gig to be honest. Not at the stage maybe but you expect to be drenched by a few if you're near the fromt or middle. It cools you down mid gig when you're warm from the jigging!

1st time i saw them was St Paddys 1991 at Barras. Last night was best i have ever seen them. I was at gig wi a mate that has seen every Glasgow gig since QM in mid 80's and he also said that's best they have been in last 20 years. Shane led the band last night and, like last year, it is so good to see him with such a strong voice again. Can't wait till next year and last night was an early 40th present for me!!! I honestly hope band cash in and get a live dvd out as they are at the top of their game. Have a great Christmas and New Year!!

Evenin, last night's Glasgow show was absolutely brilliant! Atmosphere was electric and the boys were on top form. Shane was bladdered and went off at least six times for drink! He really got into it last night and they played two encores. I think the last number was Fiesta with the brass section, Shane proceeded to sink a full bottle of white wine during this, then he and Spider started tray hitting. A raucous end to the show with Shane and Spider falling over each other into the PA but all of the boys put on an excellent show.

Yes, it is scarcely noticed that at various points in the show, myself, Darryl, Terry and sometimes Andrew and James also leave the stage to get bladdered, to take Class A drugs, to exhaust the groupies.............or merely just to answer a minor call of nature, all the more frequent in advancing age, I regret to say. But unlike Shane, we don't have our own private tent, guarded by angels, in which to indulge in debauchery. Jem and Spider have more continent dispositions.

Erm sorry I seem to have been hounded for this post, but this has been the first time I have seen The Pogues (i missed them the last twice for personal reasons) I didn't mean the drink comments to come across as insulting, it was all in good jest and the show was the best I have ever seen by any band. I don't know how things usually go at shows... sorry folks!

RE Monsieur Chevron, "Call of nature" it may be but every time Shane Reappeared onstage, as did a full tray of drinks.
