I was not there but guessing the Nu Europe CD?
Nu Europe

They didn't use that CD :(
The song I'm looking for was cut on Saturday and the boys got on to stage, the DJ didn't play it on Sunday. But the DJ played the whole song on Friday.
The time when you could here the song was around 21.30
Then they'll take you to Cloughprior and shove you in the ground. But you'll stick your head back out and shout "We'll have another round"

If you're looking for the music that the Pogues typically come on stage to, then that would be The Clash's Straight to Hell from Combat Rock. Sometimes before Straight to Hell The Clash's The Call Up is played.

10 stars for the Friday show
10,5 stars for the Saturday show
9,85 stars for the Sunday show
Brixton is a terrific place for a Poguesshow but Olympia is even better 8)
Greenland Whalefisheries have never rocked so hard as it did on the Saturday show :)
A Pair of Brown Eyes on Sunday, in the beginning I was crying because It's so Important that the song is played very slow.
The combination of the strong lyrics and a slow tempo makes the song so magnific and probably it is my favourite Poguessong. Shane started singing it slow but the band played it too fast as usual.
I missed one song in the setlist, I think that it would have been a nice gesture to perform "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda" now when the magnificent Liam Clancy just passed away.

Does anyone have a list of the songs played in the pause between BOW set and the Pogues set, it's one song i'm looking for.

Have seen Shane & The Pogues lots of times through the years, I must say that the Friday and Saturday show at the Olympia it's the best shows i've seen (so far)

Why did you give the Saturday show 0,5 stars more than the Friday show ?

It's small differences between those 3 shows, but I felt that Saturday "Rocked" hardest and Shano did some serious kicks in the air :) and between the songs Shane and Spider talked and laughed a lot.
10 stars is the best you can get from me

I'd never been to the Olympia before but I loved the place. I'd originally planned to go downstairs and stand demurely beside a pillar or against a wall to watch the proceedings. I mentioned this to Paul Mc C just before the show and he suggested I might fare better sat upstairs. Thank God I took his advice as I'd have been heading for the hills after seeing the mayhem down on the floor...not for the fainthearted !
Thought Shane's anti-slip mats were a good idea given his tendency to make a puddle or two but he gave them an almighty kick on the Saturday and they were swiftly removed!
As much as I love to watch and listen to Shane my favourite on all 3 nights was Metropolis...especially the Dancing Brassers.
Now I've actually had some sleep (after 3 nights with little or none) I would do it all again tomorrow if I didn't have to stay here and be a sensible shop-keeper.
The great company before and after the shows really enhanced the weekend...thankyou Alan, Paul, Johan, Mats and Per for being such kind ,thoughtful, gentlemanly minders !
It was also a pleasure to meet the delightful Welshman  who made me cups of coffee in the wee small hours of Saturday and so efficiently located my lost red scarf.

I'm typing this without my reading glasses (dropped them on the floor and accidentally trod on them) so my spelling could be even worse than yours, Johan !

From what I've seen you could get the impression that Shane's singing was actually on time and comprehensible

Looking forward to the 19th

Thank you Pogues for three amazing shows in Dublin. Friday night was the best but the other two were not far from it. Thanks to all the old and new friends that made our stay in Dublin so great. Maureen, Walshy, PaulMcC, Alan, Fr McGreer(gollum  ) Aidan, Aslak and everyone I forgot. The sing-a-long at Brogans, next door to Olympia on Saturday was unbeliavable. I think the whole pub joined us in Sally MacLennane.

Some of the highlights for me were Repeal Of The Licensing Laws - love to see James running in front of the band with the accordian. Sunnyside Of The Street - the brass section takes the song to another level. Dirty Old Town - the crowd singing at the end.
Philips dance moves in Metropolis and Spiders friendly gesture to Elvis Costello in Fiesta (hanging, shooting and slashing James´s neck with the tin whistle) Wished only they could have changed the set list some. I think all the shows were the same.

A special thanks to Philip Chevron who dedicated 1000´s to the Swedes every night and personally to me, Per and Johan on Sunday. Thanks for saying hello to us after the Saturday show, you´re a true gentleman.

I have still not recovered after the trip but I can´t wait for next year, Cheers
